Language tips! The languages spoken here in Belgium are French, Dutch (also called Flemish, but it's Dutch), and German (but to a smaller degree). And you're in luck because the Dutch word for sorry is sorry! But you'll find that most people in the Dutch speaking (Northern) part of Belgium usually can speak English as well.

One shuffle option you missed is taking ferry to Tunisia. Its also 90 in 180 days, so you can have 6 weeks in Schengen, goto Tunisia for 6 weeks, back to italy for 6 weeks, balkens for 6 weeks, then to Germany - and break it up like that rather than need 90 out after 90 in. There are apps to put your dates in and keep a track on your time if you are in out - eg grabbing a few weeks in Bulgaria before grabbing a bit of time in Greece before heading to Turkey - remember its a rolling 90 in 180 rather than 90 in, 90 out. Maybe catch you in the UK (North England/South Scotland) is where I mainly live in my camper.

Like y'all we've done many miles in one of the 5 old campers we've had over the years. :) A little tidbit - we did the huge move over to Italy from the US with 4 dogs and a 13 year old daughter in tow! Thank you for giving me a big smile listening to your creativity pronouncing Schengen😃👍🏻 And yes, please! Always remember to pay attention to cyclists in Europe. They are everywhere and they expect you to see them and be careful. And they are road users like drivers are. It can be helpful to study some of the traffic signs. Like blue/ white/ red triangles or circles with bicycles in the middle. You should know them. They are very similar all over Europe. Young people are more likely to speak English (like you saw with the children gathering around the van). Maybe you find someone in each town to teach you how to say „sorry I don’t speak…“. But most countries will be easier than Belgium in that regard. I love following you and see how you adapt to our routines like grocery shopping, pumping gas or what else turns out to be different from what you are used to ❤

As far as any motor home repairs and maintenance wait until you are in Turkey, Czechoslovakia or other Countries with similar economies and you will receive the same quality (as long as you shop around and do due diligence) at a fraction of the price you pay in the more developed Countries. For the service just give them a good tip and mention their business of your channel, a win, win for both.

@@SnowAndCurt - 👍🤩🙏That’s fantastic. There’s a special Feast of St. James holiday which is both the Dia de Santiago and the Dia de Galica / that is on July 25th of each year. It’s quite spectacular and special in the Municipality of Santiago de Compostela. It includes many official celebrations the most important of which is an official mass which is attended by the general public (I’m so happy I got to attend), representatives of the Catholic Church, the Galician government and often by members of the Spanish Royal family. Known as the King’s Offering to the Apostle, this is the occasion when the gigantic incense burner, the Botafumeiro, is swung down the cathedral aisles in breathtaking fashion almost touching the vaulted ceilings (I’m so happy I got to see it). The handlers of the botafumeiro, known as tiraboleiros, guide its movements by ropes. It was quite amazing. My Pilgrimage just so happened to line up with me being in the Municipality of Santiago de Compostela by coincidence. I was more focused on getting my Compostela for having walked that far and finding a place to sleep for the night before I realized what I had stumbled on to / into. I’m not a very religious person but I felt truly blessed to be there to experience it, however it was a bit “off-putting” to see all of the pompousness of the Priests/Cardinals etc getting their ring kissed….but to each their own. Santiago de Compostela is charming and enchanting with so much history and ild structures. There are also a lot of students there making it a very “lively” place to visit. I hope you guys get to see & experience it. The Pilgrimage & the Feast of Saint James. I can go on and on about it. Take care. Safe travels.🙏💝

I always tell people to ask the kids, about 12+ older as they'll likely know core English words & may get a kick out of the interaction (Kitty Cat - loved seeing that part). We've done it in several countries when in a pickle (just be careful where you're at, so you're not being taken advantage of). One of my favorite interactions was on a day visit to Cyprus. I split off from my lunch group to walk the alley shops. One kid was manning a shop, we caught eyes as I looked at a magnet. He let me be until I had a question, I said Hello in Greek (I try to know basic words in each country I visit), he then shot straight up asking me where I'm from. Tells me that he is learning 3 languages and rarely gets to speak English let alone "American" ;-) He was so polite & genuine, asking me questions, TV shows & ran in to grab his mom. Apparently they don't meet a lot of American's, let alone talk with one. Before I knew it I had to leave, I try to pay for the magnet, they won't accept. He heartedly shakes my hand & made sure I went the right direction, kept thanking me & saying good bye to me until I was out of sight. That was years ago now, and still warms my heart today.

Even when you're doing errands, you always make an interesting video and often find time to show us some animals, which I love!!! You showed a coot swimming, (black with white beak and front shield), which led me to look them up, because I know they are protected here in Aotearoa/New Zealand. We have the Australian Coot, which arrived here on its own, replacing our extinct endemic species, which had a long neck! The Australian Coot is a subspecies of the Eurasian Coot and they seem to look pretty much the same. I love learning new things about animals and seeing the similarities and differences between species in different parts of the world! 💚😊
