Snowed into a Pub, Ashbourne, Co. Meath, Ireland 1982 0346am 10.1.25 so long were they barricaded in there that they forgot they were married... it is my dream to get an after hours slot or be trapped in a pub with a lady.............................................

That was a great blizzard. Happy memories of going down hill on black plastic bags..walking in the middle of the roads. No cars. Snow wasnt even cleared in Dublin.

I remember it well! I loved it! I now live in a place where there’s a lot of snow but its not such a big deal here!

Yes, indeed. I lived in Co. Meath at the time. We had fun having snowball fights. I remember some of the drifts were almost 6 feet tall. The electricity went out; the water was gone; so much destruction in a short time. The army had to come in and bring people into town as there were no buses running due to the snow. However, those were simpler and happier times than now.

Yes, Tommy Heavany and John O'Reilly look really upset. Really angry at havin' to stay in a pub for three days straight...and this time with a handy airtight excuse.

1977, 1979 and 1982 big blizzards. We have become soft in Ireland. Now a light skift of snow or a chilly night is "Red wearher event" sigh.

That looks like the White House Pub, which is neither in Ashbourne or county Meath. It is in The Ward county Dublin. It is normally the other way round, places in county Meath being designated as county Dublin.
@davidpryle393512 сағат бұрын
Maybe that’s why it took so long to get the snow shifted, they were phoning Meath County Council when they should have been phoning the Dublin one 😂🤣

@@davidpryle3935 True, the border is only about 1 mile or less up the road past the Coolquay. Maybe the Rutledges were "accidentally" calling the wrong number 🤑
