Did extreme winter camping (mostly Adirondaks) all my life (for 40 yrs) until I got disabled (work related) 20 yrs ago. With your channel, I can at least still enjoy it at some level. Ty. No bugs No snakes No bears (usually) No people Outstanding Love your channel. Be safe. God bless PS: Cool snow shoes. Like your collapsable stove too.

If I was doing this and loving the camp site and countryside I would stay and relax loving nature for at least a few days .

More time videos please....25 min at least with details like a fire light in the tarp, 3 or 4 min with sound of burning wood. 3 or 4 min with the camera into the tarp with the open side looking the panorama so ear the natural sound. No talk please as you doing, that very good! Thank you😊
@bobvogel53984 жыл бұрын
The tarp is OK is the wind doesn't blow snow in. But what do you do if it does? Was there a bivy sack available? Another tarp to cover you? Or...?
@michaelhunt74944 жыл бұрын
Camping in brutal winter weather? Who needs a tent and propane heater? Just extra weight. A lean-to tarp is plenty of protection. Erik has incredible survival skills. If the world came to an end, he would survive with the cockroaches. He is indestructible. BTW, does he ever hike and camp in good weather? The hardest thing must be putting his boots back on in the morning. They have to he icy.

Why snowshoes instead of skis; sounds like there's a crust on the snow anyway? Also: you love that firebox, don't you?!? Very handy in a wet environment. Are you using a map and compass, or is this a marked trail? (doesn't look like a marked trail--none of these look like marked trails!) Thank you for another beautiful film!

@Anton Boludo About 6 hrs west. I did live there for a bit though. It's a nice town.
@BushtreckBoosh4 жыл бұрын
@Anton Boludo Yeah Ontario is strange that way. I think the divides are more based on population than geography. I live by the coast of lake superior and the land is much different than the fertile land of the southern half of Ontario. What gets me with Erik's videos (besides them being very well done) is that even though we are half the world apart, the boreal forest stays very similar. I'm lucky that I have some awesome tripping buddies, but I'll admit that motor sports, hunting and angling are the more popular forms of outdoors activities here. Have you been to gatineau? I've heard that it's gorgeous.

It;'s like magic. Erik seems to pop in out of nowhere. Just walkin' - No drop-off, no driving in, no nuthin'. He sleeps overnight (if he does) in some field, maybe on his cousin's land, and then maybe he goes home to edit the video; am i right? Why is he wearing snowshoes? I can see the ground at the base of a tree; it doesn't look very deep....
