You gotta show us at least portions of when you do something to the sled instead of showing the same shot, pointing your camera at the sled for 6 minutes and telling us what you did. Don't mean to critique but just some advice. I love vids of when people take their old sled that has been in the garage for decades and simply put some new gas in the tank, remove the plugs to make sure you have spark while putting a little oil down the holes, turn the clutch a few times to make sure the motor is free, spray starting fluid and the thing fires up. I would say to make a second video of you taking some WD-40 or any spray lube and go over every pivot point on the suspension and any other moving part + the throttle cables/throttle pivot, Steering, ski's and I'd even spray your clutch springs out to clean them and remove the decades of dust inside. I'd then take the rag and drench it in WD-40. Then spray the cowl/windshield down with WD-40 and then wipe down the entire sled. It'll clean off all that dust and whatever else is caked on it and also since WD-40 is made from fish oil, it will hydrate all the plastic/synthetic bits on the sled that have been drying out over the years. It'll make it so everything is less prone to crack while also cleaning it and preserving it... I've seen snowmobile shops do that same thing to old sleds and they shine up so well that the sleds literally go from untouched for 20 years in a shed to being put out on the showroom floor to display. Your sled could look amazing if you cleaned it up like that... and since you're using a lube to clean it, as long as you don't scrub to hard on your first pass over any shiny plastic parts, you shouldn't leave any swirl marks or damage the paint. Just be gentile until you get the first layer of dust off, then spray it again and with a clean part of the rag, give it another wipe... You could get that cowl looking really good that way. And, it's something you can do in the cold, whereas you couldn't wash it like a car in the cold. For the aluminum/unpainted or plastic parts, use a scotchbrite pad or rough side of a sponge with the WD-40.. it'll pull the years of dirt and a bunch of oxidation off that silver aluminum. You could also use a sponge and some WD-40 on the windshield after you get it clean with the rag to remove a lot of that yellowing and to make it much clearer and easier to see through. To be safe, I'd then take ten minutes and change the crankcase oil. Then!! it'll be ready for you to take a video of the sled's first rip! That's the next video I want to see!

It would have started right up if someone was holding the throttle wide open.

You simply do not know what your talking about. I have rebuilt multiple engines in my time and I can tell you this is standard procedure.
