So I summerized my sled over the weekend. All went as easy as you make it look in your videos Dave. Just one tip I'd like to add. Since this is my first sled I'm also just learning, I discovered that even though I was trying to do a good thing by raising the back end keeping the track off the ground, this is not a good idea when you're trying to run fuel stabilizer through your system. I couldn't get my sled started and after tinkering around and attempting to fish the fuel line and filter out of the tank thinking I may have kinked the line after installing a new filter, I noticed the fuel was at the front end of the tank whereby the fuel filter was not submerged. So I dropped the sled down and she started straight away.

Nice to see you back! I'm never sure what route to take. Back before fuel stabilizers I would drain the tank and run the engine to get rid of all the gas.Never had a problem with my sleds but now the stabilizer seems to be popular and is a lot less work.This spring was the first time I used stabilizer . I guess we'll just wait and see what happens come fall !

Good to know I was missed. I set up another channel to share non-snowmobile videos. Stuff about shooting videos etc. I'm going to post some stuff with my new drone soon. The link in in the description for this video.

Great video. I usually drain most of the fuel at the start of the snowmobile season.

Thanks. Do you drain the carbs too?

I also run my sled for about a half hour after adding the stabilizer for it gets in the machine just sitting the sled on a jack and revving it

Great video Dave, I'm new too riding and your videos. I have a 98 Skidoo Mach 1 700 Triple. I also hear people putting sea-foam in with gas for the summer storage. Any thoughts? Video request - how to change belt and spark plugs? Keep the videos rolling, you're doing a awesome job👍

Hi Dhanbir. The product in the video is the one recommended by BRP for their sleds, so thats what I stick to. SeaFoam is another gas treatment that cleans sludge off of internal parts and binds with moisture, so it can be used also. I have read a few comments that used for storage, Seafoam can break down deposits and actually clog things like the screen in the in tank filter, but I honestly have no strong opinion either way. Thanks for the video suggestions, always great to hear ideas from you guys. Will do something up in the future.

Hey Dave do you start and run your sled for about 8 to 10 minutes everymonth? You know instead of fogging? i do ..always works for me.

Yes, normally I start it routinely through the summer.

Hi, I bought a race sled last year. 95 xcr 600 drag sled. And it runs great, but you have to prime it to start it.. Any ideas? Thanks

Sorry not clear what you mean. As in using the primer? Did you watch my Starting a sled with a primer video? Or are you talking about something different?
@fpcxenos37888 жыл бұрын
it depends how cold it is if its warm -10C or something prime it 1-2 times. if its cold -20C+ then do 3 but since its an older sled cold weather like -20C can really take a toll on older sleds as i learned the hard way. as my 1999 ski-doo formula Z blew a cylinder and well 1500$ had to say go into that just dont make the same mistake i did.

I have a video in starting a sled with a primer that might help.
