It is incredible how many people, like this, remember and feel for a loved one who is gone. 13 days ago my husband had a horrible and stupid accident that took away his light on this plane. It moves me to see that you have already suffered the same pain and that somehow your loved one communicated through this channel to give us a touch of hope in this endless pain. My husband dedicated it to me, a few years ago, I didn't pay much attention to it. but a few weeks before he died, he played it daily and it reminded me how much he liked it and he felt very melancholic. On the day of his death I asked him to speak to me for the last time, I played this song and I paid more attention to it. lyrics, I didn't stop crying, it was like he was singing to me. I will love you all my life love, my love, Bryan. Your 2-year-old baby will always know that you loved him and that you gave everything for him and his sister. I will never understand these things in life. With you a part of my being left. It's real, I feel like a part of my heart was torn away.

I first heard this song in 2008, the year that my mum nearly died after a horrific and very bad car crash, she was in a coma for 3 months. Every single lyric felt like they were written for me and my sister, and we used to listen to this song together on repeat until we fell asleep. I still listen to it now and it holds a lot of pain and as well as peace. If you’re reading this and want to know what happened, my mum, against all odds, survived and is living a good quality life.

I'll sing it one last time for you Then we really have to go You've been the only thing that's right In all I've done And I can barely look at you But every single time I do I know we'll make it anywhere Away from here Light up, light up As if you have a choice Even if you cannot hear my voice I'll be right beside you dear Louder, louder And we'll run for our lives I can hardly speak I understand Why you can't raise your voice to say To think I might not see those eyes Makes it so hard not to cry And as we say our long goodbyes I nearly do Light up, light up As if you have a choice Even if you cannot hear my voice I'll be right beside you, dear Louder, louder And we'll run for our lives I can hardly speak I understand Why you can't raise your voice to say? Slower, slower We don't have time for that All I want is to find an easier way To get out of our little heads Have heart, my dear We're bound to be afraid Even if it's just for a few days Making up for all this mess Light up, light up As if you have a choice Even if you cannot hear my voice I'll be right beside you dear

The song describes my deep emotions and the feeling of being lost and isolated, which often accompany my depression. These lyrics speak from my soul about loneliness, the feeling of not being understood, and the inner struggle I experience with my depression. The song manages to amplify these emotions through its musical composition. The calm piano arpeggios and powerful choruses reflect the highs and lows that people with depression go through. Thank you for this song that helps me in my difficult times.

He wrote this about his future when he was broke. Amazing how lyrics can mean different things. For me its about me and my g/f, both got addicted together and so we knew we had to separate. We did and all good now Light up , yeah. I never saw those eyes again... I cry every time I play this.

I remember being 17 listening to this song at sunset on my iPod walking down the street as it slowly turned night. There are some songs that are so attached to such vivid memories that when I listen to them its like time travel. I feel exactly what I felt at that moment years ago.

Similar story is having a rough time in 2003 I was 22 years old. I went down to Florida just to get away from everything. I was staying in a condo on the beach. It was about 1 o’clock in the morning and I was sitting on the pitch black beach by myself, when a kid woke up to me and asked for a cigarette. I gave him one. He said thank you, and handed me a CD. I went back upstairs and my CD player came back down press play, and this song came on. I put it on repeat and listen to it until the sun came up the next morning. Expanse of the ocean meaning the pitch black sky with the stars is mesmerizing. times seem like it’s stood still and that one night eternity. I’ll never forget that night. And that song was burned into my soul.

I discovered this song /Snow Patrol only a few years ago while working as a barmaid in a small local pub in Scotland. Many of the regular customers were people who had a rough life, been to prison, ect. Sometimes, it was really difficult working there but among the good memories I have is this song blasting on the jukebox and everyone in the pub singing

My dad died much too young, and I played this on loop. It made me cry so much, but it gave me hope that I'd see him again. It's been a long journey, but I can feel my dad around me, with the whisp of the wind, and he is the babble of the brook, his lifeforce still lives on. I can feel his heart in me. He's in my dreams, in those moments in the space where we wake up before becoming fully conscious. He's all around me, he is nature and he's in all the things I love about it.
