Cheers mate. I’m a fifty year old male who has only recently got back into gaming. Due to buying apple machines to make music I have noticed they have great games. Compared to the Atari ST which I had in the late eighties the last time I gamed modern games are how we wished games were and then some. I wish I could go back in time to play this from day 1. Starting off in that little Chevy thinking this is cool but what the heck am I supposed to do. Fast forward and I have trucks bigger than some houses and have completed missions across the globe. Such an amazing game. Really looking forward to their new game.

Love this game. Remember to GET THOSE UPGRADES, and that the most useful beginning upgrades are in the first three regions, Michigan, Alaska, and Taymir.

This game is just crazy how it comes Set up, the camera, the steering are completely bizarre. That's a nice tip on the steering mode, definitely was chasing it the entire time with it the other way. More frustrating than I've ever come across in a driving game lol what were they thinking? Lol

Thanks for watching. Up on the dpad opens the truck options and then square for crane. Be sure the hud is on in settings. Use the anchor when standing still.

They should have made the wheel centering thing the other way around. On controller it goes back fast and on steering wheel it doesn't, as steering wheel players want realism. The wheel still goes back on controller mode but insanely slow.

hey, that first map, i have it pretty much cleared, and found a gmc mh 9500 towards the bottom right. there is no work order. so, i repaired it, fueled it, still couldnt claim it. i towed it to my garage thinking that would work. i still cannot take control of it and there is no job for it. what can i do??

@@randalhuffman8827 I haven’t checked specifically but in general I would bring up the task giver and look at the rewards. Then go through the contracts rewards. A reward may show that truck. Also you can check if you have access to a truck by switching to it.

The one thing that drove my crazy with this game is the first time I had to pick up " Long logs " and it took me ages to get to the pickup stop and found out the vehicle setup I had couldn't be used to haul the items. I went back and checked the contract and no where does it say what type of vehicle/bed setup needed so I was quite frustrated to find out I had to go back and google what I needed. Perhaps the codex would have helped me there??

What you described is the challenge of the game. For each task or contract you must decide what the best truck, frame add on, and trailer is best for the job. Even today I might drive out somewhere and realize I have the wrong set up. For long logs you need a specific frame add on and trailer which you no doubt know now. Frustrating at first but the number of combinations is small and soon will be second nature. Please see my video called SnowRunner Short Log Trailer Mod for help on short and medium logs.

I see that you play on the PlayStation and I have a question how do I open kola peninsula there is a lock on it because I just downloaded this game about 2 or 3 months ago and all folders are there but I can't now only michigan and alaska and taymyr play and the rest is locked how can i elicit that it says at kola peninsula this region is available in season 1 do they mean i have to play michigan and is michigan season 1 or is michigan and alaska and taymyr season 1

I would check out www.maprunner.info. On their home page they show a list of all the maps, what season they belong to, and if they are a DLC. So kola is the season 1 DLC, which is included in the Year 1 pass. spintires.fandom.com/wiki/Search_%26_Recover

@@Nuumet i hope if i have done all the missions of michigan the lock will come off from kola peninsula or if i have done michigan and alaska and if not then i hope i will have done taymyr and then the lock will go off and if it still hasn't been unlocked then I think it's a strange game because with a lot of games if you've done about a little more than half of the missions in another game then usually all the locks are unlocked and I have already done more than half of the missions from michigan and i've also done some things at alaska and a few things already at taymyr at michigan i'm at 78% and at alaska at 61% already and at taymyr i'm at 71% and I'm at rank 30 and I went to explore all regions for the best trucks that I can use with all missions

Hi Nuumet, that was helpful advice! I bought the game a couple of days ago, and on completing the first task of repairing the bridge and finding the first garage, when I hit LEAVE GARAGE, it always sends me to Alaska and I don't want to go there yet! What am I missing? Thanks.

Yes that’s annoying. I don’t recall if a task is required or you have to find the garage in Alaska but go to map, global map, choose Michigan and a map, then scroll down on left list and select garage.

So, if I understand you correctly, I let it send me to Alaska, then find a garage and using the map, go back to Michigan, us that it? But I noticed in this video you hit leave garage and you stayed where you were, appearing just outside the garage. It seems to be behaving differently, right? I'm still a bit confused, to be honest but I'll try finding a garage in Alaska (using the standard Cherokee?) and return to Michigan. I've read that it's worth exploring most if Michigan before moving on to Alaska, but seeing as I can't upgrade anything in the garage without being sent to Alaska, that might price to be challenging. I still feel like I'm missing something! Anyway, thanks for you answer. It's nice to know that you are there to help out if I should need it... Cheers!

The gas tankers and trailers with cargo may be part of a task or contract. You might screw that up. But yea in general you can use trailers on the map especially if you’re just starting out.

Trucks are the only thing you can retain. Since you don’t customize trailers there’s no need to save them. Just buy and sell them at a trailer store.
