SnowRunner: The BEST mud tyre for the Tayga 6436 and pals?

So here's my potentially tiring Tayga Tyre review. As a couple of you have pointed out, there is a minor correction! I quoted the MSH tyres, not the MHS. The outcome is, however, the same as you can physically see how each tyre does and my recommendation about the TMHS I being best overall still stands. In fact, it actually enhances my point. Anyway, apologies for any confusion. I try to remove all mistakes, but I am a one man band sadly. Take care!

When you hear the splat but don't get feedback in the controller I believe you are at optimal performance. When a tire works perfectly you get nothing through your controller. I also you can "listen" to how well your tires are working by the sound of the friction... Call me crazy but I'd put money on it.

I can't speak for anyone else, but my experience with the TMHS1 was that they were very risky on firmer ground. When driving top-heavy trucks like the ANK or the Bandit, rolling over even a small bump would cause the tires to act like a spring; I noticed much higher suspension travel, and I was constantly fighting not to fall over even on reasonable trails. When I switched back to the UOD2, it was much more comfortable. At this point, I only use the TMHS1 on the smaller and lighter trucks, particularly those that can't equip dual tires on the drive axles.

I've been using the MHS II's when possible just because they looked the beefiest. Also, on a completely unrelated note, a good challenge for players seeking a hard mode might be to use your trucks in stock condition (no upgrades, no tire changes, only frame addons allowed).

I prefer to use the OHD I on all the available vehicles, ofers a better stability and there are 10 tyres contacting the ground instead of 6 for single tyres, and where are not available, the UOD II, even if the mud rating is 1.9 the dirt rating is 3, i didn’t got stuck once with these tyres, they are better in most situations than the MHS variants. I use then if i don’t have MSH tyres variants on a truck. If MSH are available they are my go to choice. (MHS is very different than MSH - i did not do a typo there )

Hey, great video but there was a slight error. You looked at the wrong tire for the MHS II slot. You read the MSH II (Which is for the super heavies like the big CAT and ASOV Antarctic). The MHS II tire is identical in stats (numbers wise) to the TMHS I. Other than that, it was very informative. Thank you.

Did you see the file i reffered too on your announcement of this vid? Tables taken straight from the gamefiles... It lists modifiers for all tyres on all terrains. They back up your findings quite well mostly.

cozy AF ending viddy there. Hmm.... been dumping hours into SR. You need the transmission mod. I found the Taygas 1st gear ratio to be infuriating, during climbs or big slow downs. It has to literally come to a complete stop to reengage 1st. Its just goofy ai. give it a go. I think youll really enjoy it.

I go for the chains whenever possible. They work well enough in mud and are good if you join a online game and the host is in Alaska. Plus mud tires seem to slip on harder surfaces. Like if you tried to brush your wheels against a rock to get extra traction mud tires just treats the rock like ice and slips off. Meanwhile chains will grip better. I go for what's best in all conditions, not just what's best in 1 condition. And overall I'd rather run chains then mud tires.

I don't want to have to use offroad tires in Michigan (since it's mostly road and dirt trails), then have to switch to chains for Alaska, then have to switch to muds for Russia. I mean if people want to do that, go for it. But I like just setting up my trucks 1 way, so that they will do me no matter what conditions I'm in. And overall, chains do that for me. Average road rating, Excellent offroad rating, Good mud rating and Excellent ice rating. I find they are just the best all-purpose tires. Like I used the Tayga, and even the Twin-Steer in Russia when I was doing my single player play through. Always used chained and never had any serious issues. Yea a pure mud tire might be slightly faster in mud, but the difference between mud and chain isn't drastic. Chains certainly perform much closer to a mud tire then they do a highway tire. Overall the difference between the two is kinda negligible. I'm not saying a difference isn't there, but mud tires doesn't feel to me like they give a big enough difference that I feel I'm required to have them. The differences is pretty small, chained has always gotten me anywhere I need to go be it mud, snow, whatever. And seeing I'm the type of guy that doesn't want to be changing gear all the time and am looking for the best all-around solution. I find chains does that for me.

katherine curtis I don’t I think it’s so much the tires but the amount of tires on the Tuz 420 and also they are thin and the weight of the tuz sinks the tires into the mud but they are still better than average mud tires. I think that’s what makes tatran almost unstoppable

The MHS II tire has a 2.4 mud rating, not a 3.2. And the MHS III has a 2 rating. The tires you referenced are the MSH II and III. Those are not available on regular trucks. They're only available to the caterpillar 745c and the Azov 42-20 antartic trucks as far as i know. So your video has a fairly big mistake in it mate. Otherwise, interesting stuff.

Like real life. If you use fat tires make sure you have the horses to turn out the mud. If not. You use pizza cutter tires, they cut through the mud, not push it. Built two Jeeps from ground up in my back yard. Thinner is better.
