Snowrunner trucks vs Modded Real Life Trucks | Are they worth it

Having used at least half the mods shown in this video, as well as more than aren't shown, mods that add trucks (both present already and brand new) that are based on their real world counterparts are fantastic. The trucks feel far nicer to drive. Even if they're "worse" in terms of capability, they just generally feel much nicer to drive than their vanilla counterparts (if there is one) and the realistic looks are just a bonus. The base game trucks feel light and bouncy sometimes, where as a lot of modded trucks that better represent the real life versions feel far more grounded and heavy. Not slow, just less likely to tip over when you hit a bump. Highly recommend creators like RSK and Yansors, they do these sorts of mods quite well. There's more too but those are who come to mind immediately

Yes, Modders are not restricted by licences, etc stuff...Also they created their creations with more passion and it shows in their mods.

The most insane part of this is that I nearly have all of these mods except the Loaf. Russian Modders are just built differently with there models, its accurate and what I love is that they add options if you really wanna go Gung ho or more Vanilla. Don't even get me started with the Train mod they have. That thing is pure Black Magic to me.

Russian (not modder) here. Russians really care about russian/USSR vehicles, russian maps, aesthetics and etc. That's why such mods (not only SR, but BeamNG, GTA and other popular games) are different. I also personally think that the special for Snowrunner reason for these mods to exist is that the OG Spintires and Mudrunner are trully russian games. From Russia about Russia, and America is available in MR only as dlc, but Snowrunner (and that's not only my opinion) is just too american. That's not bad at all for me (but a big for those half-brain russian patriots), but when you look even at basic Taymyr maps, you get that it's not Russia at all. Color palette, terrain, weather, most of buildings. And vehicles look gimmick. This is why russian guys want to, let's say, get back russian aesthetics.

I think Russian or East Eurpean regions in general is more suitable setting for this game than North American regions unless the game is set in old times like Mudrunner & Spintires. NA trucks and roads are just too developed for such offroad operations IMO. BTW I am not from either of those regions so It's not about patriotism for me. However I am a fan of Spintires & Mudrunner which I admit kind of make me biased for East European trucks.

In all the years I have been playing the mod trucks that are faithful to the intended truck radically improve the game. The P16 for example if you look at the real world sales brochure is leaps and bounds more capable than in game with AWD, a far larger fuel tank, and a steering angle of 40 degrees instead 19. I will say that your point about GMC's vehicle lacking details is common among his mods as I end up having to do a lot of manual tweaking to bring them inline with real world specs.

@iSkiLLeTXx There is a website called the Pacific Truck Club that has scans of a bunch of old documents from the company. What is interesting is that I also ran across a note that if you the customer had a custom request that so long as the Engineering department of Pacific Truck approved of it they could fulfill it. Which means potentially a lot of other mods people make for the P16 and P12 are perhaps not as far fetched as it might seem.

Man, If P16 gets AWD, It would destroy other trucks but I like P16 as it is...maybe add it's unique log cart & a bit more power.

@@SD1ONE With AWD it does become extremely powerful but I think it's offset by it's massive size both width and length. Especially when you start to also include towing a trailer.

I feel like saber should focus more on realism rather than "hip, hip hello fellow teenagers here is your pink skins" , their target audience is not the latter, I've noticed the same odd artistic choice in expeditions that flopped hard, vehicles looked childish and cartoonish, this genre is made for boomer gaming not adhd zoomers.

Yeah, I am really against that art style...Hopefully their upcomming game Roadcraft has that old gritty vibe of Mudrunner.

In Expeditions I usually go for the mono color schemes, since the more complex/artsy ones are hurting my eyes. Same in SnowRunner - my trucks don't need to look like the circus is in town. Some of the recent trucks had really rather bad paint job options.

I'm so grateful to our modding community for giving us the trucks that the devs can't because of licensing. There's very few instances where I prefer the vanilla trucks over the mods, especially in terms of the real life modeling and addons. I love our community!

Licencing can expain the looks but I think addons could've been added, Although game was rough at time of release with lot of bugs which lets me to believe it was rushed thus devs took some shortcuts with same addons & trailers to all trucks....Glad to see that their new DLC trucks are more detailed with their own tires & addons...I hope they follow that trend in next game as well.

The game truck resembles the most with this model...that's why...the other one is newer model I think.

The most irritating thing about this game is the day-cycle. it's speeded up at least 20 times i think and if you like me want to drive in daylight you have to go in to the effing menu and turn back effing time to 13:00 all the time. It looks sooo good in bright daylight. It drives me INSANE. I have done the time change over 1000 times... WHY oh WHY cant we chose to stay at any time we want?, or at least make it real-time..Its supposed to be a simulator.

Man maybe a menu option and its a shame the daylight cycle doesn't move but I really do hate real time in sim games MS fight sim drives me crazy because of real time I hate 12 hours of night time I'd rather have Snowrunners short night long day then real time.

Cold regions are generally more darker in real life as well but yes some regions are too dark for no reason.

5:20 easily one of the most done dirty trucks in the game, I’ve never even touched the Voron because it looks terrible with the square lights and overall just wrong. Such a shame they missed so hard with that one

Man, If I ever make top 10 ugly trucks in game, It would easily top that list...they butchered it with modern touches, propotions are also so wrong...it looks like a toy truck specially with that flame livery they add.

genrally they flex better than vanilla trucks but no way closer to Mudrunner...I think SR's engine has its own restrictions.

Farming missions are actually not hard but time consuming...specially season 8 ones...new ones that they added last season were fine IMO.

The game have a lot of bugs and glitches I cant complete the last mission farming in glades I tried a lot of times, but it shows around 90% of progress.

I wish mods won't be so restrictive on PS5 because 1Go available isn't enough (when mods are around 250Mo each). I choose tweak vehicule instead because I can have more but Ural Next is great

Есть на Кировца. Ну и плюсом, эти лицензии никому не интересны и не нужны. Ну будет у людей вместо Lada Vesta вымышленная Dala Sveta, они поржут с другого шильдика и визуала, который дизайнер сделает лучше оригинала (что, как по мне, невозможно ни с одной другой машиной, кроме русской), люди только обрадуются. К тому же не так много в России студий, которые бы дошли до того, чтобы брать лицензию. Не тот уровень. Ну и опять же, кого впечатлять разработчики собрались настоящей техникой? Тем более техникой производителей, о которых кроме дурных отзывов и насмешек ничего нет

ANK pack is very good actually but those are older models of AM General than M939 that we have in game...The mod I showed in video was closest match to in-game truck, that's why I used it.
