Haha those trailers have been building up for a while, well there used to be about 17 more trailers there but a glitch months ago wiped them all out so I had to restock the pond lol! They get there from my review vids and it has took a long time to get them all there, hence why I don’t want to spend even more time taking them all back lol! Using a 3 slot sideboard for medium and 5 slot sideboard trailer for long, to carry 9 to 12 logs. I've been using the past 2 weeks. Saves on trips.

@@itsmrlonewolf For long logs i just overload the normal log rear-log front of the truck (with the log crane.. so the 570TS or the azov10x10 are candidated here.. i use the azov for fuel economy). I did a short run with 18 logs (6 loads! ) in chernokamensk - short trip. Did 12 logs (4 loads) all across the map in two rows of 6logs and the crane resting on the pivot point on the log front part. - more or less the spintires-mudrunner way to take everything in one trip. But the long logs explode badly when switching to gateway. The medium logs in the long sideboard addon (on the azov or 5700TS) suprisingly work very reliable at switching gates on PC. For medium logs with one truck is the same azov that can have the log crane and the low saddle for sideboard semitrailer. And just winch the empty medium trailer. Once at destination you can unhook the sideboard, hook the medium log trailer and start loading (flipping the sideboard to spill all the logs on ground is mighty faster than picking logs from the sideboard bed). No need to pack the medium trailer at the start.. it will likely spill on the way, the 5slot semi as you used it in this video is capable of safely bring 24logs! (2 layers of 6logs and twice since it can have 2 medium logs lengthwise). For short straight trips with no excesive tricky sections another 3 on top of each stack is doable (or even another 6 for each stack).. so this brings a max total of 36logs (12 loads) in one trip (and you still have the log crane to rest on the logs in the sideboard or to make adjustments on the go if a log fell down)

Log missions are painful because we dont have a log bed for the truck itself. I just hate taking extra trips for the same mission with the annoying log trailer that sucks in reversing lol

Yeah I know I wish they’d add more medium log frame add ons, and something like the twin steer should have a long log frame add on! I don’t like multiple trips either so I try to get it all done in one go, although the winch seems bugged and it’s not starting the truck at the back, you need to start the engine manually I think 👍🏻

you are right about what you said about resistances i was using m CAT 745c the other day on Michigan no less and it was struggling through the mud area by the garage never did before i actually had to use AWD diff lock and low+ to get throught it was really weird.

The towed truck will drive if you have the engine on but if you have the engine off it will basically be dead weight from what I have found, to be honest I wish they had the mudrunner option of pull or drive in the winch system.

Nice video it inspired me to do the logging on drowned.......I got myself an off road med log trailer but the log station dialogue box told me this trailer wasn’t compatible with med logs.......I got the other trailer and loaded no problem and also 9 logs into a sideboard semi. Almost reached the farm when I noticed log trailer had lost its load so I pulled forward a bit making sure the area was good for unhitching ..... hit the button and the trailer jiggled and rolled over spilling the load..........but get this!!! it rolled back on to its wheels, I the drove upto the log trailer to find that the logs have disappeared completely......not underneath or anywhere behind.

Yeah that’s pretty crazy dude, I’ve not had that happen fortunately, there does seem to be a few log related bugs though that I hope they can patch out soon 👍🏻

They should give all trucks the option for single chained muds. Some trucks like the 49x, boar really struggle a lot.

The towing issue is as follows, the vehicle you are towing must be started ( the engine) manually if your tow vehicle has a trailer , if you tow straight to another vehicle with a trailer between you , it will start on its own , kind of like quest where if you repair and tow with a trailer it won’t turn in until your main driving vehicle is connected via a winch! Hope this helps , I did this same quest last night using the cats with the log add on so I don’t need trailers. Great 👍 work as always .

That super mud is why I prefer the original 3 maps. I don't want to spend 10+ minutes just sitting there spinning and not going anywhere. Even vehicles like the Kolob has problems in that stuff, it's crazy. Why do they even bother releasing new vehicles if you can't even use them to complete objectives?

Did all the missions in that area last night, and wow some are very hard , 6 medium logs , and the mud is horrid in the one map that you find the tataren on with 3 long log orders , flipped my p16, p12, and my Bruce!,, there is a curved slanted muddy turn a little ways after crossing the river to the drop off point so bring a spare big truck if you can and a loaf . Now on to kvod

Yeah that Zimnegorsk map is a bit of a beast and always has been a very slow muddy drive anywhere, I know the corner you mean too lol I’ve rolled many things there! And I’ll be sure to take a loaf lol 👍🏻🍞🐎

I have noticed that if you stop the engine and switch trucks, and then try to winch it doesn't seem to start it when you attach the winch. So I have started leaving the engine running if I'm going to tow a truck.

Yeah I think that might be the problem, it used to auto start trucks but it doesn’t seem to be doing so now, hopefully they fix it as road trains are much better than multiple solo trips 👍🏻

You can put a log carrier plus medium log trailer with the bobik, just need another truck with trailer. Or 2 bobiks and you can get 4 medium log loads.

Yeah I tried that the other day with the bobik and the iceberg, for some reason it won’t let you pack logs into the log carrier frame add on? It wouldn’t let me pack them on any truck with it, modded ones at least

Oh fortunately I’ve not had any bugs with packing the logs but I’ve heard a few others say the same, and yeah the winching thing is all messed up right now, I hope they fix it soon, I’m sure they did some stealth update and broke some stuff as I didn’t have any of this for the first week or so? Yeah it seems it might be something like that going on as it drove on quarry but not on drowned lands? Someone said it might be to do with winching from a logging trailer too, it might not be as bad with normal trailers? Not sure though 👍🏻

Yeah I generally don’t go through there a lot, although usually the dolphin can stay in highrange through there, but with the paystar acting like a dead weight then it was a slow crawl instead 👍🏻

I think they got the difficulty for the first Russian maps just right cause there were patches of mad mud but the majority of the roads you can cruise along in high and the challenge of the maps is less just super mud and more rock paths and cliffs trying not to tip which is way more engaging than sitting in low plus with the difs on

The main thing is that the mud looks deep and it feels deep. Mud in wisconsin is 5 inches deep and nothing can get through it. If they make deep mud, at least make it look intimidating.

Yeah they are better balanced than some of the later maps, I agree I prefer risky driving to just sitting there in high low going half a mile an hour, it gets boring too quick 👍🏻

it seams to be very hit and miss at the moment if the winched truck drives i have been putting the truck in neutral revving while disconnecting and reconnecting the winch but after setting off with winched truck driving it changes its mind down the road and becomes a dead weight again

Yeah the winches don’t seem to auto start the engine of the other truck anymore, although I thought the same that it just seemed to randomly change it’s mind here and there, hopefully they fix it soon 👍🏻

Couple things, TIL you can pack a vehicle on top of your "dolphin" but apparently not on the rear frame(?), I'm sure you must've tried...then, why is it that you seem to always use chained tires, even when not in a map that even has ice? Also, with the winch thing, I had a truck that was stuck in a river nose first and I went to winch it out with something else but tried to pull it forward (so the vehicles were rear to rear). As I tried to just drive, I was making some slow progress but any time I tried to pull the winch at the same time the other truck would flip itself into drive and try and pull both back into the river. It was a major pain in the ass trying to actually rescue that truck.

I haven’t tried that for a while, I did ages ago on lake Kovd and it kinda worked but it was a lot of hassle getting them lined up and even then it wasn’t amazing, there might be some areas where it works but I think a better purpose built trailer for making bridges would help 👍🏻

I’m not sure but probably not as it isn’t powered so it’ll just catch on the terrain and need to be pushed through mud etc, in real life it helps spread the weight on the truck, but in this game it doesn’t matter so it’s kind of a gimmick more than needed 👍🏻

It’s hard to say but probably not really, on paper it’s a great truck, but it just seems to wheelspin so much that it’s often not worth using, it would do much better on the Michigan maps, for road hauling it’s great,!but yeah off road it’s not as good as it should be, the Navistar is half the price in the store and I would say better than the 49x 👍🏻

I did something like this with the flatbed with sides, but couldn't get them out with the crane, had to tip over the trailer. So I upgraded & went with the log trailer & instead of loading 3 & packing it, fill it up with logs & leave it somewhere easily accessible. Just don't do what I did & accidentally pack it, you lose all but 3 logs... Yeah..
