Outstanding 👍👍👍 It's always good to see a video from you, and you never disappoint. I've got snowshoes, but rarely use them. Completely agree on the amount of calories expended just to move forward. I'm using a Finnish Army Forest ski from the 80s. It's very similar to your short Forest ski, just longer. There is one issue you might run into with the shorter ski, even if it has a wide footprint. If you're carrying a backpack or load of any type, the shorter your ski the deeper you're going to push down into the snow. The reason forest and Cross Country Skis are longer, is to give that flotation above deep snow. If you carry a load you may want to consider pulling a pulk sled behind you. This way that shorter ski can support your weight in deep snow. Has anyone told you you have the most awesome job in the world? Happy New Year SF.

Thanks man, I was hoping you'll chime in and set me straight on the winter realities. You and Survival Russia are my goto resource on that regard among many. Happy new years to you too and family.

Thank You for this, just got a Forestry Radio Tech job here in MD, have a few mountain top sites that I may need to get snow shoes for, have the Trax for ice, but we also have an Argo 8x8, gonna learn how to drive that as well

@GUERRILLACOMM I dont know if you already made one or not? But if not, can you make a video on a poor man analog voting system? 2 locations with maybe affordable equipment purchased through ebay and any complexities involved with this idea?
