10 years later and I'm here just to say how awesome the little 600 ACE mill still is, 375 km on a 40 L tank turning a 154" track.

I love my 600 ace. After 1000 miles I'm getting up to 27mpg. Even after a hard ride I'll always have oodles more fuel left than my fellow riders. I got it in the expy sport and 60hp in that ace is no slouch in powder. Sure it will never beat a 2 stroke mountain sled, but it is more than adequate and pulls a huge load when needed. if Rotax could crank more hp out of it while retaining it's utility prowess, they would have a winner of a do-all engine.

They made a pressurized induction kit for the engine. I have a 2013 mxz sport with a 600ace. With the kit it makes 95 horse and I can hit about 95

"4-stroke sign off early in the powerband [..] feels numb att full throttle". This is not even correct at all. A 600cc 4-stroke sport motorcycle does NOT sign off early, nor feels numb att full throttle. This engine is DESIGNED this way, as it's supposed to be strong at low rpms, hence more torque at low rpms. This seems more of a utility engine with good pulling capabilities. So I believe he is wrong

I'll take the 29MPG over the faster 2 STROKES 12MPG! Although I would like to see them make a 700 ACE! ALTHOUGH my 87' Kawasaki KDX 200(2 STROKE) gets 58 MPG compared to my 1984 Honda XR 200R(4STROKE) 60 MPG. Not much difference!

Only 60hp? Most 4-stroke 600cc motorcycles produce between 80 - 125hp, no turbo! In theory: If 500cc Phazer (80hp) would instead be 600cc it would produce 96hp...

Hal F yamaha phazer mountain sled 3.65m track. 76.5hp on dyno, wet wheight 263kg. chassis​ can't do work because the tunnel is to weak. lynx ranger 49 900 ace utility sled. 90hp (97hp on dyno) 4.14m track 255kg wet weight. and lynx is reinforced to withstand heavy work load.

People get hung up on 60hp when in reality torque is what matters.

@@btwiitchell55 obviously you knnow what your talking about. Torque is what you want. More at the at the bottom end and thru the middle is far more important than top end. 80 mph is fast enough. But pulling thru powder and sipping less fuel is a win win.
