What happened with the wipers?

They stop whenever they feel something’s on their way (in this case, snow/ice). Always important to carry a “de-icer” to make the windshield as ice-free as possible.

Agreed. They actually have a “steering wheel heater” (that I activated at 02:09) and this one was a life saver

@@jalissa216 It depends on the trim. I have 2024 4Runner TRD Pro and has the wiper heating from the factory. It's visible under the glass in the windshield lower edge

04:34 Na-na-na don't do that. :-) That's always a very BIG No for me. Until the windshield is not unfrozen on the bottom I'm not moving the wipers. I don't like to buy another pair of wipers or refills any time soon.

Do you need to switch to 2WD once you are on highway?

I don't precisely remember if this is a requirement but I know that 4WD is mainly advised for low speeds (sub-40mph).

These were indeed studded tires :) we were lucky here since it’s not guaranteed to get one when you go pick up a car at the rental agency.

I live in Fairbanks and I don’t know anyone that runs studded tires up here. I run all season tires on my vehicles and have no problem whatsoever.

@ yeah I’m pretty sure I know where I live and I’m friends with all my neighbors and go to the store and go out and about on my snow machine and don’t see anybody with studded tires. I see people running blizacks but I I run falcon wild Peak AT4W. So nope I’m afraid to tell you I’m not lying.

@@nastysoda9212 in fact, I just drove up ( November 14th after the big storm) the Steese to Davidson ditch, then drove up the Elliott to Wickersham Dome in my 2024 ram 3500 with stock tires ( which are all season highway tires ) and had no problems whatsoever.
