I always get goosebumps when Win screams: "WELL, WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THEM?!" One of my favourite songs of all time.

I'm middle aged. I've seen things, I've don things, all my feelings have gotten more numb over the years. 100k people killed by an earthquake, 15k by carpet bombing, i don't care anymore, it's just business as usual. I should, but i don't. This song always gives me goosebumps, it reminds me, that i should care.

You know what. I was just thinking the same if I had to choose. It sums up arcade fire. Just beautiful sweet/bitter epic/subtle poetry. Love it.

Neighbourhood is so freaking good, the near fragile voice of the leadsinger may turn some away, but Id say it adds a raw vulnerability to it all. Heartfelt and sincere.

the whole song expresses this very specific kind of sadness and the lyrics are a bit unsettling but that's exactly why i love it.

This is a great lyric video. There aren't any obnoxious text effects, just enough delay to not spoil any lyrics and allow for natural reading, a nice background effect that 100% suits the song. Love it.

There are few artists who have the ability to do that. Meatloaf is one of them. He was a genius at it.

There's an episode of Mad Men where Don Draper is pitching an ad campaign to Kodak executives. If you've seen it, you'll remember it's the one where Don begins to describe the idea of The Carousel which is basically a circular slide projector, a novel idea at the time, being like a time machine. He narrates as he is showing slides of his own family during happier times which never happened the way he remembered them as happens to all of us. He says the word nostalgia is a Greek word which means the pain of an old wound that has never healed. Hearing this song sends you back to a time which may or may not have ever happened. A painful time maybe but one that we want to return to anyway.
