I have the CFX3 35 and it has been great. I recently purchased the CFX3 25 and while I loved the footprint / size and weight, when the compressor is running - it is much, much louder than the CFX3 35. At idle, the compressor is quiet - no issues. For car camping or tent camping, it wouldn’t work from a noise standpoint. Unfortunately, I had to return the CFX3 25.

That's interesting, Scott, I wonder if it's anything to do with the smaller dimensions of the CFX25 i.e. less material to dampen the noise. ~ Ben

@@SnowysOutdoors Not too sure about smaller dimensions being the factor. I have a CFX3 35 and it has been great. The compressor on the 35 sounds completely different than the 25 compressor. The 35 compressor isn't silent when running but it makes a sort of gurgling / louder humming sound - which is not a problem in a quiet room/tent/car during sleep time. Not so for the 25 - we tried sleeping with it in the same room and had to move it into another room - it's definitely quiet when the compressor isn't running but when the compressor ramps up to cool the 25 down, it makes too much noise. Too bad because we loved the size/foot print of the 25. I don't think the 25 would be a problem for someone keeping it away from a sleeping area.

Everything about this: controlled temperature to the degree, the casing… totally perfect. But I need something a bit smaller in volume capacity. Any suggestions?

Nothing in this style - smaller fridges tend to be less efficient aswell. Dometic do a CFF 12 & CFF 18 which may be worth looking at ~ Lauren

I haven't seen Lexus fridges, they are likely re-branded Dometic models. ~ Ben

@@SnowysOutdoors they aren’t Lexus branded, but if you go to there website and build your own car (I did and SUV: I chose hybrid RX luxury to compare prices) under accessories there’s a coolers and freezers drop down menu. There they are the Dometic line of refrigerators. See if you can find it. TBH never considered a small fridge in a car/SUV before, maybe good idea for long road trips

Great review….how tall is the cfx25 and cfx35 ? It needs to fit under a van bed

Hi! I have this model I have a QR code on the display. I scanned it with 619 app but gives an error. The factory reset function didn’t work! What to do?😓

I;d suggest taking it to the store you purchased it from, or contact Dometic directly, it looks like it could be a faulty temperature sensor. ~ Ben

Hi Ben, Dometic WSite say that the unit can be connected to solar panels? Is that the case and how does that work? I do not see a connector, so my panels go to my controller then what? Thx!
@SnowysOutdoors Жыл бұрын
It's a miscommunication on Dometics part I think @Coyotehello - we've had this question before. Solar refers to Offgrid Solar 12v/DC systems. The fridge itself doesn't have a built in battery, which is required to direct run from Solar Panels. ~ Lauren

Would this be a better than an RV refrigerator? Perhaps have two built in rather than RV refrigerator
@SnowysOutdoors6 ай бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean by an RV refrigerator. This is a 12V fridge that can be used in 4WD's, caravans and RV's, so it may be the same thing only has a top loading chest configuration rather than a front opening upright configuration. ~ Ben

My 35 litre keeps cutting out over heating..it in the back of my Ute in the sun ..it does have a cover ... why does it keep stopping?
@SnowysOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Could be a number of reasons - being on the back of your ute, could have a blocked or super dusty compressor causing overheating. I'd be taking it to your closest refridgeration mechanic for a check-up www.dometic.com/en-au/support/maintenance-upgrade-or-service/service-locator ~ Lauren

can anyone pls tell me will these devices cause a problem if we operate them in a camping box that we will place in the trunk of a vehicle such as a pego rifter or a citroen berlingo? These are single cabin vehicles. Is there a sound problem? how much noise do they make? and in a closed environment, will the motors (compressors) experience loss of efficiency?
@SnowysOutdoors Жыл бұрын
You can use these in a vehicle as you mention, it is safe to do this unlike a gas powered fridge with should no be used in a confined space. You will notice the noise, if you are sleeping in the car you will hear a quiet hum on and of during the night. As for efficiently, there will be a loss of efficiency if they are operating in a hot space as they need to dissipate heat in order to operate at their best, so try and ventilate the vehicle cabin as best you can. ~ Ben

It is designed to run from a vehicle rather than as a standalone fridge, You can run it as such but this requires an external battery and a method to charge the battery i.e. solar, all of which adds versatility to any setup. ~ Ben
