What is known about any specific threats? Is this information in the public domain? I am not a UK citizen.
@vtechead110 ай бұрын
Serious threats have been increasing towards Labour MPs from pro palestinian groups, unhappy at the stance Labour have taken regarding a ceasefire. Labour were suggesting ‘a pause’ in the fighting to get humanitarium aid in, while other parties wanted a ‘ceasefire’. To be honest they should be setting out a plan as to how both countries are going to live after the war ends. What’s the point of a ceasefire for it to kick off again a few weeks later ? They need to agree to create a two state plan THEN announce the ceasefire.
@Smudgie10 ай бұрын
@@vtechead1The impression given by the speaker is that all parties have received threats and not just Labour. When you say "pro Palestinan groups", do you mean Islam or antisemites in General? Is the British Parliament now expected to completely cave in to the threats of violence from outside sources? The future looks very bleak. As to setting out a plan, that must surely be between Israel and Palestine to decide? it has always been used against the west that they have had too much influence and it is responsible for the terrible state the Middle east is in.
@vtechead110 ай бұрын
@@Smudgie I’m talking about the demonstrators waving Palestinian flags, protesting that not enough was being done to call for a ceasefire by the UK gov. Labour was not calling for ceasefire, they wanted ‘an end to the fighting’ to get aid in. That’s what all the fuss has been about, some parties wanted a ceasefire others just wanted to end the fighting. There is a difference between a ceasefire and ending the fighting. A ceasefire without any plans as to what is going to happen if the war ends, may only last a couple of weeks the fighting starts again. Labour wanted a complete end to the fightinng, with the introduction of a plan as to how they live separately after the war. Both sides would need to agree on the same plan. And that’s the problem, nobody is coming forward with any clear plan, so the fighting goes on. Sure, it’s up to whose actually doing the fighting,!whether they want to stop or not. But international countries have to be seen to be united in getting peace between the two countries. That’s what the vote was for in the UK gov, to show all parties were wanting the same outcome.
