However did these people get nodded into posts of power when they were really below basic recruitment level. Management is letting the whole country down at every level, not working people. We have another Vennels in number 10. I see another long enquiry in the future. No right of reply, suicides resulting. We can never seem to learn.

There is a malaise in Britain and the PO scandal is a symptom. The woman is an ordained minister of an established church that prefers to protect child molesters than expose them to justice. Our head of state shelters a brother who consorted with a molester and groomer of young vulnerable women. Vennels should have been prosecuted years ago but there is no prospect of it for another there years. “Justice” used against the postmasters was swift and brutal but almost ten years after the scandal became clear and the prospect that she committed fraud she hasn’t even been questioned by the police. We need a shake up and no mistake or is it just too late now?

I have no idea why being a member of the Clergy is seen as an automatic certificate of honesty. Not when even the very highest of them are still, to this day, covering up, and/or ignoring, the perverted crimes of those beneath them (to coin a phrase). Vennells was a cruel, vicious, liar. She was cruel to her Sub-Postmasters and she lied on oath .... while taking promotions and bonuses. I have no doubt she'll walk scot-free with a clear conscience. That's normally how it works for CEOs.

Hmm! Imagine, at your place of work, some money goes missing. You get blamed. If you deny it you are threatened with court resulting in prison. Or if you admit it you just get a suspended sentence or community punishment. So to avoid prison you admit guilt. Over and done with you think. Then your company sues you for court costs because you were found guilty, you owe £350,000 in court costs. Your life ruined. This company is called the Post Office. Their logo is " whatever you need us for, we're here for you". They spent £100 million in expensive lawyers to try to avoid paying £58 million in compensation. The class action saw the incorrectly convicted see £20,000 in compensation after court costs. The executive salaries were between £250,000 and £500,000. Post Office investigators were given bonuses for every Horizon conviction. The horizon system was the cheapest availale and is still in use and has millions spent on updates.

Never has so much been taken by so few from so many. Modern Britain eh. Made ten times worse by delays in compensation and the worst of all .... the actual guilty parties get the clock restarted... more delay, more rewriting of the truth, more chance a new medical condition to lesson the punishment. More chance to enjoy the benefits of their actions. This is not justice. What's the point of having the proceeds of crime act when it can be enjoyed before being taken back.

Fujitsu took the money. Who, did this and where is it. No one seems to accuse Fujitsu of stealing the money. Not the postmasters. Who is insisting on this being the case. ?? I haven’t heard anyone discuss this being the perfect crime untill they became too greedy. Small amounts paid back so the crime is self healing . Fujitsu identified this as on opportunity ,and theft that would self heal. The perfect crime. A weakness in the system.
