That's the British army light weight bag that goes inside the medium bag as part of the sleep system, the mesh is your mozzy net to cover your face, there is also a bag liner. The medium bag does have a centre zip and goes on the outside.

Use your knee to squish the snugpak against the floor while tightening the straps. It get's smaller.

That’s not the BA medium sleeping bag. It’s the inner part for the actual sleeping bag.

The tie points are for putting it inside the medium weight bag and there's a bug net behind the press studs. I find most bags will go down to 7c but that's as far as I'd go with them even in a bivi, below that I get my arctic bag out.✌🏴

I have the snugpak special forces sleep system, the special forces 1 and 2 bag. I wouldnt touch the british army modular system. We were issued the arctic bag while served, i first got issued the old 58 pattern bag. I wouldnt leave home without my snugpak.

I have to say, I do love the size to warmth ratio of the snugpak SF1 bag. So in the forces, can you use your own kit instead of issued kit?
@j.juergen10104 жыл бұрын
Hey there, In my opinion, your army sleeping bag is the inner part of the modular sleeping system. Look for a video here on Ytube Britsh Army Lightweight Sleeping Bag and you will find out more! As far as I know, your sleeping bag is the successor to the jungle sleeping bag. Good times and atb from Germany. Jürgen

Yeh, I'm not sure what bag he has. Unless it was issued in a different year. I've got a medium weight British army sleeping bag and it's got the zip down the middle.

Looks like the lightweight bag tropen equivalent.
@soggz42462 жыл бұрын
@@boiledegg6788 He has the tropical lightweight with bugmesh that goes inside your medium.Some also can be confused as there is a medium medium and a large medium. Ones longer and wider at the shoulders than the other,for the taller soldier. All the best👍🏾🇬🇧

Yes, it’s the inner bag with the ties on.....the ties attach to loops on the inside of the outer bag

You only have the lightweight Army sleeping bag there. The whole system consists of a liner, medium weight/cold weather bag, and the lightweight/warm weather bag (this one). The liner has ribbons on it which loop through those tie points.

You know that your meant to sleep naked in any bag,with a liner,as your heat is what makes the bag hot. If you have your clothes on,you will either be cold,or just sweat. It’s best to eat a good calorific meal before you turn in,this will help produce heat which in turn fills the ‘loft’ and insulates you from the cold. A good mat to sleep on is crucial,too. I use a inflatable mat and a long piece of silver foil type insulation. Never been cold yet,and that’s up on the Somerset Mendip hills,to the mountains of the Lake District. All the best.👍🏾🏕🍁🇬🇧

I tried sleeping naked once and kept waking up with a wood on 🤣🤣🤣. I've since invested in a Thermarest Xlite sleeping mat, it's made a massive difference in warmth and comfort. Thanks for the tips.

Yet when the bags are warmth rated is based om sleeping in a set of thermal underwear.
@swirlathon2k Жыл бұрын
Not true sleeping with clothes and insulating layers on is warmer. Slept out in some crazy conditions and can confirm this is best for warmth. Aside from that if you are in crazy temps getting naked before getting in bag is going to cause you to lose lots of body heat! use a liner to keep your bag clean.

If a Snugpak bag or any of their other products give a rating then add at least 15 degrees on..
@UK_Outdoors. Жыл бұрын
Why is that?
@Chris66able Жыл бұрын
@@UK_Outdoors. Same for most brands but Snugpak are renowned for it.
@UK_Outdoors. Жыл бұрын
@Chris66able this bag is rated to 5c. Adding 15c on to it would be 20c... in the review I slept in 7c and it felt about right. Since then I have bought thermarest neo air mat and that has made a big difference. So when testing gear to its true capabilities, I would highly recommend making sure you are warm underneath you first.
@Chris66able Жыл бұрын
@@UK_Outdoors. They are rated for someone sleeping in thermal underwear, something which the vast majority of KZbinrs get wrong.
