Pre-'85 double bunk flat top K100 is my all time favorite truck, and he seems like a great guy too. I like that he kept it old school without a huge drop visor and snow plow bumper. Awesome video!

Chris comes to my warehouse to get loaded and deliver. His truck caught my eye as soon as I saw it. It's more beautiful in person AND at night. It lights up so pretty! And Chris is such a kind, nice driver. He can tell so many stories. Great video! Great questions asked. Keep it up!

beautiful. i love that he kept everything with that classic look, and didn't make it look all fancy and covered in chrome. there's something more nostalgic about a truck when it looks like that.

Hello from Ireland Chris. That's a very cool old truck. 7 miles per US gallon is fantastic fuel economy. Bloody hell our modern Volvo's and scanias over here would never achieve that even though we operate at higher gross weight (44 metric tonnes, 97,000 lbs). The owners passion for his old truck shines through. A complete labour of love for him. One of my favourite rolling interviews. Gr8 work.

I love K100s love to drag one home either make it a show truck or a dump truck…. You barely see cabover dump trucks so that’s how I get the idea. I just purchased 2 W900 dump trucks for my business… need time and muneh to make it happen. Lol even if I get a cheap beat up or weathered junk one it look fantastic sitting in the yard I wouldn’t mind just looking at it. Probably just stay and get it running and driving to for the heck of it lol. There’s another option hah hah. I’d actually restore it to how I want it to come out. Use it and enjoy it. Such a cool ole rig.

Did he happen to mention where his 3406B horsepower was at? 425, 380, 350, etc. I'm 55 and started out in early 80's K100's. lol. I drove a bunch of em. 350 Cummins, Big Cam 400's, 3406A &Bs. Never averaged over 5 mpg with any of them over the yrs back then. All 48. I hammered though, I'd fall asleep doing 60. lol. I'm talking 9 and 13 spds with 3:73s thru 3:55 rears. 425B motor, 13 spd., 3:55 truck would stroll. The radio... "I just got passed by a cabover!"...yep, you got your doors blown off by a cabover. I heard that a few times. I was a young outlaw, speeding whenever possible, mostly hauling overloads of frozen shrimp from the Texas coast to the Northeast as far as Boston and Gloucester Ma. Getting around every scale from Brownsville, Tx. to Boston at 21, 22 yrs old. Oldschool cool just like this guy's truck! Drag raced a 379 one night coming into Indianapolis going east on I-70, right around 465 loop. I passed him and I guess he felt like he didn't wanna be passed. I smoked him hard! I lost him thru town. LOL! Anyhow, this dude has a nice ride, but back in the day this was just a regular, common road truck with aluminum all the way around and a square bumper. Not hatin fellas, I love the tractor! Oldschool class. Keep on Truckin Brother. Chris, I LOVE your videos, man! Sorry about the story. I have a sh-t ton of em and nobody to talk to.

Great truck! I bought my first truck in 1995 and it's a 1980 K-100 ! I still have it parked out behind my barn. It's got a silver 92 (8v92) deep reduction 15 overdrive ( slap the shifter against the dash and hold on ) with the switch under the dash for low range ! 5.33 rears with the 8 bag air ride! I'm looking for a shop to to to go through it and fix her up nice! Not show truck nice $$$. But still turn some heads? Possibly stretch her a little? Do you have any suggestions? I'm in nw Ohio. Thank you. Keep up the great work!

The Ink Pen he's talking about....the old man said the Pen is probably older than you are ...I have a Question ❓ about the Ink Pen,,, Is It a Gold Or Silver Cross Kenworth Ink Pen that was given when to the original Owner when the truck was bought new ? My parents bought a new 83' 359 Peterbilt in September of 1982 and the dealership gave them a Cross Ink Pen & Pencil set in a custom slick case .Had the Peterbilt Emblem on them,..Some Peterbilt dealers would give them as a gift for buying a new Truck... Also some Kenworth dealerships would do the same..It was up to each dealership and or Salesman ..if salesman gave them out it came outta the salesman's commission
