This game will surpass your expectations. PS: there is a new game plus with hidden scenes, manuscript pages, and dialogue. Two play through a should easily take you around 40 or so hours. :)

Out of curiosity, why was it phenomenal? Lip sync is not correct. Investigation is boring, the shooting is non existent, and the story is absolutely ridiculous. So what did you find phenomenal?

@@selvmortsydd I loved the labyrinth world design, puzzles were well designed, combat was meaty and tense, the enemy design was eerie, I loved the exploration in each environment, and the investigation elements were great at keeping players dialed in with all the narrative elements. There’s a lot I found phenomenal! What games would you put in this category? There’s been a lot of great ones this year!!!

@@cookiescream1993 My thought, a let down. The whole crime board thing gets me out of the game constantly. It's annoying as hell, you have to put it in the right spot otherwise you can't continue in the game. Absurd. Nah i don't like it so far....

Yes after 5 hours I got bored. Too slow, combat, and investigation are boring. Not really investigating anything you just have to press a button and put card in certain spot. Uninstalled and got control series x edition. Love that game. I liked Alan Wake 1 by the way.

@@johananj.j8003 Nonsense, Alan wake 1 is one of my most favorite games of all time, i play plenty games that are different or obscure. When you make Alan wake 2 people expect something, they expect something similar to part 1. This isn't any good. The constant going back to the crime board pulls you out of the game, plus it's nothing more then put a card in the correct spot. In the first the story was second, and the exploring, running for your life, the shooting was one. Here it's nothing but blabbering dialog, story goes everywhere and the action is completely gone. Completely. So no, it just isn't a worthy Alan wake game. And that saddens me, cause like i said i adore this studio and all other games they made...

I loved this game so much. It’s a 10/10 for me but I have to say as an Alan Wake sequel. I don’t lie, I’m a bit disappointed. I was expecting something more akin to American Nightmare but further built upon. There are elements from that in here but it’s just not the same. I guess Quantum Break and Control already covered the more action route so I understand why they chose to go this route.

I played on the normal recommended one to immerse myself in the story. I have not tried new game + yet but there is a hidden nightmare difficulty similar to the first game I’m excited to try out! Outside a few late sections (similar to Control) the game overall is well balanced.

On ps5 both modes run exceptionally well. Performance mode is my preferred and the environmental detail holds up with minimal pop in. Darkness is used to great effect masking loading of textures especially when you change the environment in front of you in real time. The way this game hides load screens in plain site is genius. Also good to note the particle response to using weapons never gets old. :) No one makes a game engine like Remedy.

I gave it a 5/5 with my only grips being some unbalanced late game sections and a second act that feels disjointed. Otherwise you will love this as a horror fan. Definitely worth the purchase.
