What do you give as a baptism gift for a baby boy? Baptism is a very special and meaningful occasion for Catholics. At the top of the gift idea list on Google was silver jewelry and rattles. I’m going to show you how easy it is to make a tiny bracelet for a baby. It costs less than $50. Supplies needed: jump rings, clasps, charms, alphabet beads, and chain. They cost me cost me $92, so $46 per bracelet, and I’ll show you the cost breakdown at the end. Bracelet for a baby should be around 4 1/2 inches, so a foot of chain was perfect to make 2 bracelets. 1. Cut the chain to be around 4 ½ inches. 2. Attach the clasp. The clasp already came with an open jump ring, so you can open up the jump ring using tiny pliers and link the chain to it and then close the ring. 3. Thread the chain through the sterling silver alphabet beads to spell out the baby’s name. 4. Add a cross charm (in order to honor the baby’s baptism). 5. Complete the other end of the bracelet by attaching a closed jump ring to the chain using an open jump ring. I got a 3mm 19 gauge open jump ring and it was TOO small to manipulate, so I would recommend that you get at least a 4 mm 19 gauge open jump ring for this purpose. Maje sure that the ring is closed completely with verly little to no gap so that the chain or the closed jump ring doesn’t slip out. The mark "ster" or “925” indicates that the metal is 92.5% pure silver. I expected each of the beads to have been marked as well, but they’re not. Note: Next time visit NamiCharmsSupplies because she sells 10 open jump r ings size (2mm x 1mm = 4 mm outer diameter) for $2.49.
