Steaming them is better than boiling. My mom used to steam artichokes a lot for us as kids. They are very beneficial for the liver

Did you know you can cook and eat the center of the stems of the artichoke? They kinda have a texture similar to the meat you bite off the leaves, except a little more firm. Really tasty, I recommend it!

This looks good but try it my way. After you boil them put a salt,pepper,garlic, lemon juice and olive oil mixture on top of the artichokes and then straight to the oven for some time like 10min or less and boom it’s the best thing!!

We grew up eating and loving them, and some people..... would just say gross. We love them. She would serve them with drawn/clarified butter. In today's world, ghee.

Can’t believe you cut the stems off. It made me so angry. The stem is basically an extension of the heart. You leave it on and just peel the skin.

I think she is supposed to get out the midle part of the artichoke, in italian they call it "il fieno" . An old lady that i knew used to boil them in red wine if i remember correctly. It was a long ,long time ago.

Artichokes are a little milder in flavor than cooked cabbage. They are sold marinated in oil in glass jars near canned and pickled vegetables if you don’t want to cook them from raw. I would describe them as somewhat like a potato/avocado combination, but are non-starchy. Fabulous👌 Fun fact: The artichoke is a thistle.
