Thank you for your empathetic reaction. Ren wrote about meeting with Joe's mum, presenting her with a check. She asked Ren to play the last part of Suicide, they both held each other in tears. Then he did this song. Ren is beyond any artist I know, he brings you into each song. Yes, Sam does an amazing job at videoagraphy.

I think you're right, Ren heals through his music. He helps others to do the same, me included. The thing is, all healing is going to be emotional. great reaction. This song is amazing, beautiful and heartbreaking. When he said he was going to give us a live version of su!c!de but that it would be different... wouldn't have ever thought he'd take the last verse from it, reimagine a verse from Dominoes and freckled angels and then end with the chorus from freckled angels creating a whole new song. (If you aren't familiar, the song Freckled Angels was an homage Ren wrote for Joe shortly after his passing.) So much talent and skill and the courage to share it with us in the most vulnerable ways.

I don't know if you have heard the full song Freckled Angels, which he used part of at the end, not that was his first song For Joe. It's beautiful bit doesn't have a mv. There is a live version though. He is opening so many people up and giving them the opportunity to express themselves emotionally and creatively. It's amazing to see it unfold and watch so many people blossom because of his music and his message. Ren, Sam, and Joe make quite a team.

"Suic*de" was hard to watch to the point that I have not been able to watch or listen to it again until now, because of my best friend taking his life 38 years ago. I have not even been able to watch a single reaction to it. It was a sad, haunting, gut-wrenching tribute. However, after listening to "To Joe" several times, I came to the realization that as sad and emotional as this song is, it has had a healing effect on me and has given me a sense of closure. Even the part that "gutted" me in "Suic*de" impacted me differently this time around. Anthony Ray (@AnthonyRay) said (I am paraphrasing) that he felt that after all these years, Ren seems to have found a measure of acceptance regarding the loss of his best friend. Anthony's comment suddenly made me aware of the song's impact on me. I think I am actually able to watch or listen to "Suic*de" again. Although I will probably not watch any reactions to it, as I consider this song to be much too personal, and watching someone else's grief would only compound my pain.

You know right, that Ren raised $21K (UK pounds sterling) to donate to the RNLI (our Coast Guard basically though 100% volunteer based) as a thank you for their efforts to find Joe? Ren himself has a gofundme for his continued exhaustive search for treatment for his own debilitating decades long battle with Lyme Disease. But he raised that money for RNLI to say thank you for everything they did to find Joe. And went back to Anglesey to personally deliver it, after being in Canada since January to receive treatment for his illness. THAT'S one helluva tribute. Keep him healthy Joe. @@joeesparks7 I think when music or any art form makes you feel something then you should show that and you do. A lot of mainstream music had me feeling apathetic until I discovered Ren earlier this year. Ren woke something up in a lot of us, I think, which is a good thing.

I always go to Ren's channel first to watch a new release. Now you are my favorite reactor to go to after that. I love how you not only listen to his music but you feel it. Ren has that affect. I don't know how Ren made it all the way through without crying. I heard him get choked up at the end. It must have been so difficult for him. But in the back of my mind I am recalling when Ren talked about all the situations in his o. Family and his father (which I don't think is part of his current picture like his mother and siblings are kind of are now) but his father is the one that got him his first guitar and now his musical talent on a host of instruments out of necessity to bring him forward to his level is just remarkable. Ren is one of those artists that creates beautiful art that is sometimes hard to watch. The emotions he projects can be overwhelming sometimes and I have to wait a while between viewing and listens to give my soul a time to recover. No to mention Sam's choice of angles. I cry every time I watch this video. I know how he feels. No matter how many years have gone by, you always miss the loved ones that were taken away from you too soon. Losing a soul mate to self-sacrifice is never-ending thoughts of what I could have done but didn't, how could I have not been there when they needed me the most, and why wasn't my love enough for them to fight through the darkness is the hardest for those left behind.

I really appreciate you pointing out all these cool things. I have heard of the thirds thing before but I hadn't thought about it with regard to any of Ren's videos. This one, when I could watch it without melting into a puddle on the floor, I was just aware of the times Sam had zoomed in on the piano keys and I was pleased I could see what keys he was playing without having to work it out. You're definitely educating me and I love it. I keep saying that Ren references his own songs within his songs a lot. Imagine it like a tube map, where the songs are stations, all linked to each other, however distantly. He's building a world here, not just writing songs, and he put his friend right in the middle of that map as far as I can see. And though he's gone, Ren has made Joe immortal. It's sublime. Just to add a bit of extra context to these songs; eight months after Joe's death, Ren performed the first tribute song to Joe. "Freckled Angels Live at The Regal Room' is a video available here on youtube under Ren's page. The end of this song is a reprise of the first tribute. I found it fitting as it almost seems to bring closure to a 13 year old tale. Love your reactions!

Do you realize the “rule of 3rds is part of the Fibonacci sequence?” It begins with a splice of Violet’s tale & Suic*de. It leads into Dominos and ends with Freckled Angels. In mathematics, the Fibonacci sequence is a sequence in which each number is the sum of the two preceding ones. In my case the two whom I’ve created are the freckled angels who have both saved me and will proceed me into a greater future.
