There are some slight bugs with stacking scythes if you check the logs. I did 3x scythe + pandamonium, and for some reason pineapples would only apply 3 stacks when every other food was stacking 4.

we also don't know what any of the other classes are. So yeah, reaper is strong in the beginning vs ranger, but we don't know if that's a balance issue or if it's just how certain classes work.
