This palette does the same thing to my brain that the big Norvina palettes do, like so many uncohesive colours thrown together but somehow still managing to have shades that look the same??? Also something about the oranges really irritates me and I'm not sure why lol
@flincoln3 жыл бұрын
100% agree with everything you said. The palette is like 50% blue, there's 2 identical oranges, and unless you're super skilled at makeup and have giant eyelids, nothing's going to blend well together. On top of that it's $129... definitely a no from me.

I thought the same. I'm sure, the most of us have all this colours, and i think, i have all this colours in a very good quality too. Mostly the Norvina palettes. So, there is no real ''want'' in this mess :) Although i love ND and would buy quite anything from her...
@aprilpeach9293 жыл бұрын
Maybe the oranges are to bright? 🤔 I really love the upper half with those pastel colors in cotton candy and mint and then adding the vibrant purples and pinks but the other half really bothers me, not a fan of the dark blue either. I would love to see the very light shimmer shades in her 5 pan palettes
@Impassion3 жыл бұрын
It's not for me, personally. I feel like it's missing a few shades that would help to tie some of those jewel tones together. Anyone who bought Club Nebula probably won't need it.
@SchwallySells3 жыл бұрын
I'm VERY into Club Nebula, and for some reason (in addition to the price), I actually think this palette is not my aesthetic. I think if you had deeper skin, hell yes. Me? Weirdly, because I love colors, it seems...like a jumble? It just doesn't have the nuance I kind of am gravitating toward lately.
@Impassion3 жыл бұрын
@@SchwallySells I agree with you on the ‘jumble.’ Like with Club Nebula, I can see a look - crease shade, outer corner deepening shade, topper, inner corner. Whether it’s a blue look or a purple look or a combo of colors. I don’t see that in the ND palette.
@berelinde3 жыл бұрын
That's a great comparison. Club Nebula seems to have been designed with a few "cheat codes" built in. You can go wild and build a random look if you want to, but if you aren't quite as daring with color, there are a few "safe" combinations right there at the end of your brush. You've got a blue-green peacock eye, an apricot-red sultry eye, and a soft, sophisticated purple-silver look you can fall back on with maximum payoff for minimal fuss. With this, if you're going to build a look at all, you're going to have to pull some kind of crazy freestyle thing out of thin air and I don't know if I'm that confident. So I'll stick with Club Nebula and look fantastic.

@becm9633 жыл бұрын
I find that I don’t wear bright colors that often. I have learned the hard way that paying $129 for a colorful palette doesn’t make sense for my lifestyle. I purchased the Pat McGrath Mega Mothership Celestial Divinity palette. I wore it one time in a month. The use value is not there. I ended up giving it to my son’s girlfriend. I will spend my money on neutrals. I purchased the BH Cosmetics Naughty palette for $12. That is my colorful palette. I have the Juvia’s Place Magic Mini. I have the Abh Jackie Aina palette. I purchased the UOMA Beauty Carnival Color palette for half off.

I love color but looking at this palette gives me nothing - I know people say that the ND palettes have a "quad system," but I am not inspired by any of the quads I could pick from this palette. I feel like the Kaleidos Club Nebula palette is a really good example of something that has jewel tones but also complimentary shades so that I have clear ideas of color combinations I can use when I look at it.

This palette has many beautiful colors-it could be a great palette for a piece of abstract art-but for eye shadow, it’s tricky. If you don’t like orange, 1/3 of the palette is out, and if you don’t like dark purple/blue, that’s 4 pans of the 15 out. And except for the peachy shade in the corner, there’s not really a transition shade. I wouldn’t buy it...ND’s out of my price range anyway...but I surely would consider adding some of those color pops to my usual routine! I very much appreciate how you make us think about what qualities of a shadow-it’s hue or level of brightness or sheen-make it play nice with the other colors. I feel like I learn something new to appreciate from some of my current palettes and I appreciate it a lot. It must take you a lot more work to make these “dupe” palettes than just a normal review, so thank you for helping us learn about color options and to be better consumers!!!

That said, the orange shades in this palette feel too close to be in the same palette. Easily could've replaced with a matte yellow or jade green or even a black

I'm not sure I've mentioned this before, but Natasha specifically arranges her palettes in a grid format where you can easily get looks by choosing a row of three to work with either horizontally, vertically, and diagonally. After working with her palettes for some time now, my brain automatically looks at palettes that way and I really understand colour stories better now *cough Norvina 4 cough* But it really helps if you train your brain to immediately start looking at colour stories in a grid like way. edit: i see you got there on your own now haha edit 2: I love your one to one dupe +! I did that too this month but with the JS blood money palette (because we do not stan here) and then kept adding to it and omg I LOVE working with it, it's so much fun. edit 3: (lol so many edits haha) but how was depotting the Violet Voss palettes? Video series idea: i love seeing you use your single shadows in different ways, so I think a great series would be dedicating a week every month (or 5 or 4 days a month) to doing a single shadows bingo. You could create an Excel file with all of your single shadows, let an app or google choose 5 or so different numbers every day for a week and then use the corresponding shadows that day to create a look. It would be a great way to use some maybe more neglected shadows and to create fun looks with colourstories you would never try on your own!
