Excellent review Matt. Bourgault certainly chose the right guy to try it out. By now I guess you can see exactly how good the side by side stands came up.

Great review Matt I was just wondering if you have ever watched Mike Mitchell on KZbin he run several of the Bourgualt air seeders much larger than the one you had. Again great review.

You could easily mount a PTO oil drive system like case uses on their planters. They work great. As far as the ground clearance Crust Buster had a hydraulic raising tongue for about a foot more ground clearance. But that would be a problem with overall height. I don't know any makers less than a 15 ft center section and that would make height shorter.

Hello Matt, good channel, some questions about the drill for you to make it it more usable to the smaller tractor, a) did they consider a small diesel generator sitting on the back to run the fans? The pluses, sort cable runs to fans, reduce hoses across the drill, tractor hydraulics just looking after the rise and lower, weight on back of drill should reduce hitch weight, as geni runs at 1500 rpm, tractor not flat out pumping fuel use will probably be slightly less fuel , just set the fan speed with a variable rate switch and away u go? b) would the front meters be better positioned just behind the tool bar steel with the tube only exposed to the corn stalks? C) would the raise /lower adapter that Larsons fitted for the bear back track help with getting access? D) would it be much of a difference to go to 10” spacing of 7.5” spacing in the crops as 12 less coulters? And a lot less hoses E) while you don’t require the interbanding, could the fert not be surface applied out the back on two arms, little deflectors with no coulters? Less hoses across the drill section, better weight balancing? E) morris seed drills have the towers flat, would that help? As a civil engineer I often wonder why the mechanical boys cannot come up with a machine to cover all as less maintenance and electronic requirements for the end users - farmers thanks fin

You're right Matt, each piece of equipment has a breakin period. It's more taxing than anything I can think of when getting new farm equipment to the farm, I almost prefer demo equipment to new equipment. That first acreage of use is already of dealt with. Going to be looking for a bit more horsepower? What about "tuning" it?

Other than an incorrect tractor, seems like debugging for your specific soil was the largest issue. The manufacturer maybe should have spent some time in your operations to see issues first hand

i think you did an exccellent review i don,t think they could have picked a more fairer person honest /to the point the only thing scares me is what a mess to work on when it covers a bunch of acres

Maybe you should get with the engineer and have them to build a unit to your needs and you test it out one year and go from there

Believe me we have the same residue conditions as u. Not as much rain but can get wet like your conditions from time to time. U definitely need more hp than u have

I really like the Horch Avatar.... But i am seeding with a 40 ft Great Plains box drill. Airseeders are easier to change seed or cleanout, but boxrdill being alot cheaper to buy i probably won't go to an airseeder any time soon.. Greetings from Southern Alberta. God Bless

This one puts seed in the ground quite a bit better than my Deere but overall a Deere is hard to beat

Matt would their be a way to run the fan hydraulic off the PTO with a pump that would free up the tractor hydraulic,s
