No because Ross’ Mountain Dew story makes me think. Because every time I tell people I’m upset, tired, or have a headache they immediately suggest to stop drinking caffeine. I’m pretty sure me cutting off coffee won’t solve my problems.

It might help with headaches depending on how often you drink caffeine. My brother used to drink like 4 pepsis a day and would have bad headaches whenever he went without something caffinated.
@tayamanan
@tayamanan 2 жыл бұрын
Caffeine causing headaches, mood swings, and Tiredness is very common. Drinking less or stopping all together will cause you to feel like crap for a bit but thats from withdrawal once it's over you feel better and more normal. Most people who cut it out feel over all healthier and better. But it also depends on your sleep schedule and overall diet on how caffeine will effect you. It won't solve all your problems but it will help.
@vallentiines
@vallentiines 2 жыл бұрын
@@tayamanan this is true! i tried cutting out as much caffeine as i could because i was constantly feeling tired and moody. this was something my therapist suggested to me and it actually helped a lot. cutting out caffeine for the most part has also helped majorly with the feeling of being panicky and jittery, which can just make your anxiety worse. :D !! but !! funfact, caffeine can also have a reverse effect on neurodivergent people !! as someone with ADD (ADHD without the hyperactivity), caffeine always had a reverse effect on me, such as making me very drowsy after drinking coffee, etc. cutting it out has helped a lot with not oversleeping/not sleeping enough, which, makes you feel a lot better. i actually suggest cutting your caffeine intake down if you are in a desperate situation and are trying to get better. you never know if it'll help or not

as someone who’s been in therapy since they were 12, it’s so weird to remember that there’s these stigmas against it. anyway, the most important thing to remember when starting therapy is that there IS good and bad therapists and there’s therapists whose methods just won’t fit you. if someone still doesn’t feel right after a few sessions, it’s best to move on.

As an art student at a top art college, it a scam. I’m literally only going because I plan on being a professor eventually and will need multiple degrees to do so. Though it’s also worth going for the connections and networking. I had a professor who previously worked on Family Guy who would regularly give our recommendations to big name studios.

I don't know how much it'll help you (or anyone else reading with the same stigma), but you have to try to think of having a therapist like "I'm asking you to help me get through my then and now issues" and not "I'm paying you to listen to me vent". Like acknowledge that it is their job, but know that their purpose is to help you, not just listen. Also don't be afraid to switch therapists if you don't jive with one of them! You're going to see them to help you and if you feel like a different personality would help you better, go find that person!

Therapy is something that can help everyone, whether you feel like you "need" it or not. If you have mental health issues, they can provide the assistance you need in dealing with it. Or if you don't have any specific issues, it's still healthy to see a therapist. They can help you get a handle on your feelings and just help you handle life in a healthier way as a whole. I'd really recommend giving therapy a shot, even if you have to try a couple different therapists in order to find someone that actually clicks with you.

My mom is a 911 opperator and so is my sister. The job itself is in a way difficult, holding the hardships of some of the calls, but most of the calls every day are less like how you expect. You get more annoying calls most of the times, from what I hear, and I also get told that the work place itself is harsher than the actual job. But that's just my mom's personal experiences.

as someone who starts going to art school in the fall, i can say that it definitely can be a waste because of how competitive the field is and how absurdly expensive it is too. especially depending on which school you go to. however, i also know that getting work in the art industry is a bit better with a degree- even getting freelance work can be hard without “certifications.”

Therapy has been so helpful imo, I’ve healed from the things that originally put me in therapy but just being able to walk in and complain has been amazing (especially in college). The first maybe 3-4 sessions were the hardest because you’re really still introducing yourself, but after that? I’ve been absolutely thriving since I have a space to talk about anything without the option of the person lashing out at me.

Listening to the stigma you all stated is honestly funny to me with how much I hear it as a therapist student. I will say that therapy is definitely a hard profession for both the therapist and client. However, it is important that you find a therapist you like that you can develop a well-made workplace relationship. If not, you will not heal or communicate efficiently.

I wanted in because I was depressed and sad. Now stuff is better, I have a high chance of being adhd. Yada yada yada. Max if you're considering therapy try it. I was so against it when I was younger but it did make me feel better. I talked about you and Ross and how you've helped me with finding sources of happiness. 10:00 My friend, upon learning I was applying for a creative writing course, insisted that it was silly because writing was supposed to come from my own imagination. Also I went to therapy when I was younger because I was adopted and things that happened before I was adopted. As someone about to finish my degree in the arts, yes it can be a total scam, if not for two things. One, networking and basically getting your foot in the door, and two, good habits. Art degrees at a good school generally get to a point where you have long term projects so all consuming that you actually have to pace yourself because you physically cannot procrastinate until the last second. Most stuff you learn in college can be found online, but having to develop a good work ethic and self discipline to pass is honestly underrated and can be really useful especially in independent work.

Don't feel pressured to just say that you're fine or okay if you aren't! ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊

And that goes for everyone. If you're having a hard time, it's okay to not be okay. Just remember that people do care, even a stranger like me cam care for someone they may have never met

Hmm I feel like max should do a princess theme hide and seek because 1: he has played princess peach in mario party, 2: he plays as rosalina in smash bros (or use to) and 3: ross was in a dress during the butt knights series.

I think I know one reason why thoughts artists passed, colleges don’t care about talent or skill they care about the story the and artist is trying to tell

I starred as an interior design major and then switch to teaching. The final project they bring in critics and they critique your work like Gordon Ramsay. No joke.

when it comes to therapy as long as they arent a psychiatrist you can be sure they aren't just doing it for the money, not all psychiatrists are money grubbers but i know a few can be. therapy itself isnt a high enough paying job to only be doing it for money. i would try it and if it is very obvious that it is just for the money you can always switch therapists

I think that's awesome that you're going. I'm personally not a fan of college in general which is why I never went. Hope it works out for ya.

I've tried cutting off caffeine in soda specifically in an abrupt manner and I felt like [censor duck]. I've been slowly regulating my soda in takes by (most of the time) by using small glasses or cups to drink out of instead of straight out the bottle. I've felt a bit better, which I've been trying to change habits so that way I can go to college (Geology for Paleobiology), and not feel like crap. Also my dads insurance that I'm on doesn't cover jack-[censor duck]. I'm going to a psychiatrist for meds to regulate my BPD and the insurance *just barely* covers it. I may end up asking my psychiatrist what cheaper options I may have either with him or for other places, but see if I can still go to HIM in the summers. I have a really good one, and I don't want to lose him with how reasonable he is (for myself anyways).

So changing bad habits and worrying on mental health support systems and how I can manage it during college time is the most worrying for me. (I don't have a car, I haven't felt bothered to with how expensive college is. My college provides enough transport and I can use a bike instead of wasting gas on a car I likely wouldn't need when I have much easier transport methods across campus). Also Max, I hope you and Ross and Krista are all handling the situations with Figaro to the best of your ability. I know its rough, and I have you in my thoughts with all the positivity in my being.

Max don’t worry, I’m also a child of a late divorce. I was leaving for my first year of college and my dad decided he wanted a divorce because they were in a loveless marriage. The part that I laugh about though is that their loveless marriage officially ended on the day of love…yup, their divorce date is Valentine’s Day of this year 😂😂😂
