for some reason, i feel like no matter if my team is snowballing or not, mercy still feels very unimpactful. This really started back when they launched healing debuff, but since mercy hasn’t gotten any actually good patches yet, she still feels useless as ever lol, hoping for buffs mid season!!

that is true, she has no impact, while eleyzhau is a really good mercy but watching mercy videos only when they have a good game doesn't help

They should bring some stuff from the Halloween mod as actual buffs. Especially the faster angelic fall thing.

Her issue is lack of damage. I don’t want her to deal damage personally but her and Lifeweaver contributing little to no damage is a massive hindrance for your team. And her damage boost isn’t her dealing damage, before someone says it. Typically, she does like 2-3k damage boost a game which is barely anything anyways. The devs have made it clear that support is just damage dealing with healing on the side now. Mercy has been left out to dry because of this design philosophy change. Lifeweaver never had a chance to thrive because they made him once they’d already changed their design philosophy for supports. I love Mercy so much but something has to change if she’s ever going to be impactful. Her beams are never going to make up for being able to get picks.

Since we already know that the dps passive is not going anywhere, the only way to improve Mercy experience in current meta is to bring triage healing but with some cooldown mechanics for it. All the supports except Mercy have ability to promote burst healing. Triage healing mechanic is kinda hard to balance, but I really like the new skill in new game mode where u can burst heal the person u are healing with a 10 sec cooldown ability. I don’t think this is the only way to improve her impact, but at least that’s the only change I can accept. I don’t want big reworks, to be honest

Exactly! One of the most terrible aspects os her current state is the complete inefficiency of her healing when faced with burst damage situations. The game has so much burst damage right now that it feels useless even pocketing someone.

I wish they brought back the passive where once an ally reaches critical, mercy’s healing would boost. I know that with 6v6 tests coming up, they plan balance and rework some heroes. Hopefully Mercy is one of them

I really wish counterwatch was toned down a bit. I enjoy a game most when people can just play whoever they enjoy without having to be harshly punished by a counter. And not even just harshly punished by the counter, but even if you aren't getting diffed as harshly, if you dont counter at some point you lose. It's a severely flawed system to have in place.

As a mercy main in high plat/low to mid diamond she feels better than last season, she still needs some buffs but its thr worst ive been having fun :)) ive made a lot of impacts on a lot of my teams and stuff and been getting lots of compliments LOL, she isnt the best to play rn but it isnt as bad as the past few seasons but then again that may just be the rank im playing in + im not rlly too knowledgable with comp i just play it for fun

I wish they would add the damage boost deals a tick damage to enemies near a boosted team mate from the mirrorwatch event. I think they’d need to adjust the potencies slightly to not be as strong but having a little bit of pressure contribution to her basic kit would be cute

i feel like mercy is a character i can't actually climb with, and is more of a character that i can use to maintain my rank and occasionally will de-rank/rank-up on. juno is the only reason i've been able to get out of gold and climb up to diamond which kind of shows mercy is in a terrible spot and limits the player

I think Mercy rn is more Whatever than anything right now in terms of strength. She is very rarely going to be a carry hero as her big moments rely on things like Ressing someone who CAN make a play. Damage boost makes her still have a lot of strength its just a matter of committing a hero for making another player do more damage If I were to make changes, it would be when damage boosting, the regen timer is cutdown a bit so you can commit to damage boosting more as the. And then also when swapping to damage from heals, the HPS decays even when damage boosting depending on how long the heal was on, Something small like a 35hps with decay for 2-3 seconds until it ends. And then the other idea is just increase the range of Mercy's beam and have the distance impact heal VERY slightly. If you are closer like 0-10m, you might gain 10hps, if you are like 10-20m its the normal value, and if you are 25m+ or even further it can dip down 5hps from normal. It makes her movement more rewarding but does not make it so there is now significant punishment. The only thing I think could work otherwise is reworking her slightly to have a offensive presence. Since the two Supports who commits to healing or damaging and can't do both are suffering, though LW has much more damage potential compared to Mercy. Idk how they'd do this, if they'd have an offensive CD to damage enemies in an area or disrupt them if they approach Mercy, but it also is very against her character (though theres an extent ofc where she does resort to fighting)

I am starting to pick Mercy against reapers or when I can tell my dps is nutty. Reaper I think mostly fucks all supports. But with Mercy, I can just fly to my team and slighshot myself to high ground. I mean why would I pick Ana and stuff if the reaper can just hold left click walking to me and kill me all game?

I think Mercy needs her 60 hps back when it was in Overwatch 1. Now in Overwatch 2 I think she is struggling because the dps debuff 25% debuff healing that did not occur in Overwatch 1.

Mercy has 60hp/s and 30% dmg boost back as of last season - the DPS passive just makes it feel like her healing is still lower :(

@@GustavoL17 nope, S12 she was reverted back to 60hp/s and 30% on damage boost. Eley makes a comment on it in a recent video about how it’s weird they didn’t buff Valk healing after buffing Mercy’s default healing lol
