I would've loved if the maker of the game put the Backroom's Ending as somewhat of a non-jokey thing (although to be fair, he said this was 2 years beforehand, so in 2022, the Backrooms was actually in it's sprouting years and then came Kane Pixels and amongst other Backroom Content Creators.), but I love the fact that the Backrooms is also an allegory for people who are suffering from grief or nightmares or anything that is negatively impacting to a person. Not only to me, it makes sense why Simon's father was to "No-clip" into the Backrooms, it's the father's grief that is slowly turning into a mix of sadness, loneliness and also insanity, as how Level 0 would make of a person, driving them insane with the noisy yellow lights, the damp carpet, and the monotonous yellow wallpaper. To me, it really just makes it better to realize how the Backrooms can be an allegory, and not be just something you No-clip into and find yourself within a 10km stretch, running for an exit.
