Cable is one of the most powerful mutants who ever lived, he's an incredibly powerful telepath and telekinetic. However, he's constantly using his telekinesis to keep the techno organic virus from killing him, so he rarely uses it for anything else. All 3 of the closing scenes involved Apocalypse. His original name is En Sabur Nur; that was him in his youth in the past. But, he's also still around in the far future that Scott and Jean go to.

However, Carol's powers weren't the only ones that Rogue had permanently absorbed. After she lost Carol's powers, she absorbed Sunfires powers permantly, when he died. When they couldn't adopt Carol's powers, they could have Rogue absorb Sunfire, which is an X-Men character and Fox had the rights for this character.

The reason Mr Sinister is so obsessed with Scott, Jean and the summers family is because Scott and his family has Superior DNA. Meaning Scott has the perfectly pure mutant genes to create omega level mutants. The superior DNA also gives members of the Summers the potential to supass omega level. Scott has a third brother Gabrielle summers aka Vulcan who's beyond omega level. With Jean already being an Omega, Sinister knew a child born between the two would be absolutely unstoppable. Sinister also owned and ran the orphanage Scott lived in he abused and experimented on him for years.

We rarely see Cable use his very powerful TK because he’s passively, but constantly, using it to keep the techno-organic virus from spreading. His arm isn’t a prosthetic, it’s the part of him overtaken by the virus. So even though he’s born to be a super powerful double mutant dynasty Kwisatz Haderach eugenics superbeing coveted by Sinister and Apocalypse, in action he’s debuffed to be more like a lower level telekinetic/telepath who mainly relies on combat training and advanced weapons.

Sorry love. En Sabah Nur is the human name of Apocalypse. It’s a mix up of the Arabic greeting SabaH an-Nur. Literally it means Morning of Light but it’s used as a response to Good Morning in Arabic. Apocalypse was the first mutant and was born in ancient Egypt.

Actually Apocalypse isn't the first mutant. When he was first introduced back in the day he was presented as being the first mutant, but that is no longer the case. Selene is 17,000 years old and Azazel is something like 15,000 years old. There are some more that predate Apocalypse as well. He is the first of what is considered the "second generation" of mutants.

Time travel can be funky. But, I think that Scott and Jean being in the future isn't changing anything. For adult Cable, Jean and Scott being in the future is part of his past. We as fans will just be seeing whatever happened while they were there. So from a canon respect, Jean and Scott always went into the future and encountered a younger Cable. Something similar happened in the comics in a limited series called "The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix". In that case, Scott and Jean's minds were taken into the future and put into two bodies. In this story, Cable was still a baby and they raised him from then until he was like thirteen if I recall correctly. They actually helped train him in the use of his telepathy and telekinesis.

As a long-time X-Men fan and fan of the original series, even though I wasn't born when the show was around, HOLY S*** , THIS SERIES IS EXCEPTIONAL (pun intended). Now this is how you do a tv show revival successfully! No joke, this series is so masterfully well written, with absolutely phenomenal animation and truly compelling characters and complex, deep, dark themes that genuinely make you question the inherent societal bigotry and how to process internal thoughts of fighting for equality and how to do so in a way to help society grow from the status quo of discrimination and to do more than allow yourself to become numb to a neverending struggle that you feel like isn't your responsibility. Truthfully, this series is some of the *BEST MARVEL MEDIA WE'VE EVER SEEN SINCE ENDGAME* (except No Way Home, GOTG3 and Loki)! Compared to how phenomenal this series was, Fox movies seem like amateur student films with such a bare-bones understanding of how truly incredible and insane the X-Men stories can be when you truly hire people who care about these amazing characters. After watching this show and its epic finale, Bastion became one of my favourite X-Men/Marvel villains. Theo James especially gave a superb performance as Bastion; now, whenever I read a comic featuring Bastion, I'll hear his voice. Not only him but the entire voice cast, especially for Cyclops, Magneto, Storm, Jean, Charles, Gambit, Rogue, Jubilee, Wolverine, Morph, and Nightcrawler, all did a tremendous job. Bro; the number of cameos in this series is insane! Cyclops and Jean saying goodbye to Cable/Nathan had me in tears🥺. 10/10 SEASON 1 I NEED A SEASON 2 NOW!!!

This show was truly amazing. It brought back so many memories as a kid in the 90s who watched the original on tv on Saturday mornings on Fox kids. Wolverine, Storm, Gambit, Rogue and Nightcrawler were my favorites. So many crazy moments to Storm losing her powers to getting them back. Gambit sacrifice to save the mutants during the Genosha massacre. The back and forth relationships amongst the characters. The best Marvel show so far. I can't wait for season 2. Ok, so the way that absolute points seem to work is that the event that will mark a turning point for the timeline is inevitable, you can try to change it but it will happen eventually in another way (i.e. Strange trying to prevent Christine's death by not going to the gala but her dying in a restaurant of a heart attack or because of a gas leak in her building) but what you do after the absolute point can actually change and lead you to a different future. In the case of this series, the absolute point is the Genosha massacre, that cannot be changed, maybe you could delayed it but it will happen eventually, Bastion's war against mutants would happen thanks to that but in this timeline the X-men were able to defeat him unlike the timeline where Cable is from, so yes, they changed the future again because they were able to "defeat" Bastion.

I don't know if they are still affordable, but there is a comic book series from the 80's and 90's called "Classic X-Men", which starts right at the All-New, All-Different book, when Storm, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Colossus first joined the X-Men, and continued on for about a hundred issues. Since they are just reissues, they remain cheap, but the kicker is: there's an original story on the "back side" for the first 50 issues or so. Much more affordable than buying the original Uncanny X-Men comics, some of which are hundreds if not thousands of dollars at this point.

57:50 Well actually this might come as a surprise but Mystique being Nightcrawler's mother isn't canon anymore and was retconed just a few months ago in X-Men Blue: Origins #1. Actually it's less of a retcon and instead the new comic restores the original history devised by Mystique’s co-creator, Chris Claremont of having Mystique and her wife Destiny be the biological parents of Nightcrawler. Destiny is the one who gave birth to Kurt and Mystique had transformed into a male form to procreate thus making Mystique Nightcrawler's father.

Also Azazel is terrible character and has nothing interesting going for him. Him being Nightcrawler's father was never as significant as you think otherwise they wouldn't have retconed it.

While I know the Rogue and Magneto relationship has been in the comics before. Seeing it in this series is still super creepy. They never stated it in the original series that he was a Holocaust survivor but it is shown in this series. The average age of a Holocaust survivor in ‘97 would be mid-to-late 60s. If Rogue is in her twenties range. That means Magneto is old enough to be her father/grandfather. Add to that their relationship started many years previous and it’s even creepier.

@loner1878 The de-aging didn't happen in this universe, and that still won't change he's a 60 year-old man in a relationship with a 20, maybe early 30s woman, and...their precious relationship was 'a long time ago' and she was even younger. It's incredibly creepy when the age gap is grandparent levels. Logan is an entirely different issue. He's hundreds of years old and basically ageless, and he's not hitting teenagers but adult women. There's nearly no one in his age range alive. On top of that, he's not dating women who are his subordinates, as Rogue was to Magneto.

For those who don't know Cable's real powers.... The Techno-organic virus that he was infected with turns organic matter (like the human body) into metal, wires and cables (like his name), bolts and nuts. The thing is that the baby Nathan was never cured of the techno-organic virus that he was infected with (by Apocalypse in the comics, and by Lister Sinister in this series), his "robotic" arm is his real arm. Cable has also huge telekinetic powers, in par or even superior to those of Jean Grey, but he very rarely uses them in a showy way because he's constantly using his powers to contain the TO virus in him so that it doesn't spread to the rest of his body and stays confined to his left arm (and some other parts).

I personally prefer the episode-by-episode reaction. I know you joked about it, but having to sit on Gambit's death for weeks to get closure was an experience, something that fans and friends were talking to each other about. It was something you missed out on, which I think affects your viewing on the later episodes. Plus, these longer binges take some commitment to watch all the way through. It's easier to keep up with you with episodes of shorter duration.

My wife's favorite is Gambit. She was annoyed with the original series because all he did was flick cards. Then in episode 5 Gambit is doing awesome things, then he dies. As F'd up as Sinister is, he's been trying to use his secret mutant breeding program throughout the 20th century to make the "Mutant Messiah" (Cable/Nathan) in order to defeat Apocalypse, the destiny that was ultimately his (though mostly in the far future). Cable is (like him mom) an omega class Telepath, and Telekinetic, and (like his father, and uncle) he's a Force-Projector who can project his energy from his eyes (well his remaining organic eye), and from everywhere else too; Nathan has the power of a human Nuclear Bomb, but can also control, direct, and contain that force too. Nathan was never cured of the Techno-Organic virus, he just learned to Telekinetically control it, and thus he shaped the techno-material that had once been his other arm into the functional cyborg parts you see him sporting.
