gambit deserves all the praise in this series, that rogue line "you light up everything you touch, but never me" would have been my villain origin story. the way he handles it, just swallowed his love/pride and told rogue they are still friends, i could never do. we should all try to be a little more like remy. edit that invincible banner always pops in my mind at that moment beast says "invincible" thank you guys.

i mean there's so many layers to that line and basically the entire scene. it obviously doesn't straight up mean he can't attract her, she's crying and screaming during the talk bc of how much it pains her, and she says "every time looking at you, seeing all the things i couldn't do", she wants him more than anyone but she can't have him. He can't light her up because when he touches her it hurts him, and for Rogue, she doesn't feel a normal human touch but instead the absorbed energy and memories. i see that line as "you're perfect but we can't be together because of my problems"

You guys should look at all aspects of the decision of the characters in the show, human and mutant and how both sides are fundamentally wrong on a lot of fronts. Bigotry and racism goes both ways. This is peak writing because it showcases both sides of a story and makes reasonable arguments for each side, the really bad guys are portrayed as the really bad guys.

Doing the love triangle with Rouge was definitely forced in this series. If u remember watching the 90's animated series Magneto and Rouge had no interest in each other. There wasn't even any hints that Rouge and Magneto used to be a couple on the show. Magneto didn't even cared that Rouge live or die and Rouge was concerned about Gambit safety in Sanctuary than Magneto funeral. And I'm also pretty sure that Rouge and Gambit were already a couple on the show but the writers of X-men 97 retcon it having us think it never even happen. They did this because it happen in the comic books back then. Just because it happen in the comics doesn't mean that they should have put it in animation. It should have never happen in the comic books anyway people hated that. If they wanted to do a love triangle then they should have just done it with Scott, Jean, and Madelyne.
