What did you do with the other thing that was crashed beside the door?

Left it the way it was, the door closed fine and it was just a beater anyway.

Good video. Unfortunately, my Civic crashing days are over. In fact, I never had a Civic nor have I ever been in an accident in my 20+ years of driving, probably around 200,000 miles. My friends, however, have all crashed their cars before, so I've done a bit of rough body work like that in my time. Oh, just remembered--a friend of mine had a Civic, and one of the rear doors wouldn't open. What happened was the child lock was engaged, then the rod for the outside handle broke. I was able to remove the door panel from inside the car with it still closed, and then I was able to get to the latch and make it open, but the door still wouldn't open because it had been broken for so long. Threw my shoulder into it several times and got it to budge; the hinges had rusted shut. Some penetrating oil later, that door worked better than the other 3 on the car. No damage to the door, total cost for repair was $0, and not a scratch on it. Some months later it was t-boned and totaled. Those beams inside the door? Yeah, my classic car doesn't even have those, they weren't invented yet.

Ha! Gotta love Civics. For being supposedly the most "reliable" car on the road, they sure have some cheaply made parts. The rear suspension I had to replace has a piece of plastic (to make the metal "look" bigger and stronger) covering a very thin piece of metal for the lower control arm. It is so thin I can bend it by hand, things like that, and the fact that a screw from the road was able to lodge itself in my transmission shifter linkage and other weird problems (not related to me smashing it into a tree) this car doesn't seem that well made. What kind of classic car do you have?

I've been a firm believer in Camrys for a very long time. I had a 2002 Camry, and Toyota REALLY let me down with that car. It was a great car, I had no trouble at all for about 11 years, except for the P0420 code. That was the first problem, and it was due to a worn-out catalytic converter (mileage) as well as overly-strict algorithms in the computer. If that could have been programmed properly in the first place, I'm sure it would have been a few more years before that ever happened. But every day she started and ran just fine. Until one day, there was this odd buzzing sound as I was driving. Drove just fine, no warnings whatsoever, and on my way home, the transmission just died. $4000 later it was back on the road. Went for another 2 years no problems, until, once again, driving home, the engine lost oil pressure, and it never warned me with the oil pressure light. No idea what caused that to happen. The oil light never warned me because the sensor (unbeknownst to me) became lethargic. The engine had a clanking sound (death rattle) as a result. Still ran and drove fine, but I had had enough. I wish there was some warning before some sort of catastrophic failure, but nothing. Toyota had their heart in the right place when they designed the car, but it didn't have that real-world testing for longevity that Toyota was known for. They really dropped the ball on that car. I sold the car to my dad, because it did still run and drive just fine, but I couldn't trust it anymore. He's been driving it for 3 years since and it's still doing its thing. I replaced it with an 07 Camry, V6. After experiencing a 6-cylinder engine, I will NEVER own another 4-cylinder vehicle again. The difference in smoothness was astounding. The 265 horses under the hood doesn't hurt either, it's a very high-output 6. Only thing that hurts is that I'd go to the pump more often. To be very honest, the mileage is quite good considering. For one more month, I did that same daily commute, and filled up only a day sooner than normal. I'm lucky enough to be able to work from home now, so it can be several days before I ever start it. Now with the weather a bit warmer and the classic, I have to remember which car I took out last so they can replenish their batteries before they get low. The classic is a 1967 Buick Riviera. No computers, body-on-frame old-school construction, and solidly built, it absolutely GLIDES down the road. You've never experienced anything like it in your life, and never will because they'll never make cars like that again. There are plenty of videos on my channel about it if you want to take a look. Just took it to a car show today, in fact.

My mother used to have one like that. She traded it in for a Ford fusion in 2012 and she misses the civic.

Really? I think the Fusions are nicer cars than the Civic. The 2006+ civics just feel so cheap and the suspension seemed built very cheaply. After not driving the Civic for almost a month (my dad now takes it work since I bought the Vette) I don't miss it at all!

Joshua's Recordings I like the fusion better too. She just liked the civic more for whatever reason.
