Oh wow. My location back combed my locs and they look terrible to me. Instead if cutting mine this time, I am going to grow it out and then cut once it's longer. You're hair came out very cute though.

Love the cut! I recently cut mine so I completely understand the feeling. Braidouts are my go to for styles. Tip for preventing bunching is to put it in protective style to keep the ends stretched out.

Your hair is beautiful. You look very happy with the outcome. I started my locs with twists but i interlock the roots. I also had bunching but it eventually evened out. I used to roll those locs in between my fingers whenever I got the chance. I think it coaxed the hair into a more cylindrical shape. I am 15 months in.
@LadyDee1503 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree! Her hair is beautiful and she rightly looks very happy with the results. I had bunching too and rolled those locs at every opportunity over the months and though still somewhat thicker, I think the constant rolling has coaxed them into the desired cylindrical shape. It's really a process lol. I am also 15 months in with my diy braidlocs.
@kyaranicole903 жыл бұрын
Congrats on 15 months boo!! I wish I had time to play in my hair more, I just don't. I tried fixing some with the crochet hook, but my god that was taking forever and killing my arms! I didn't dislike the "look" of it more than the FEEL of it. It felt awful! I am truly happy with my decision now. Thanks for the love!

Looks great, I think you made the right decision for the uniformity. I just did the same...my sisterlocks had like 3 to 4 inches out and it looked like loc and afro....I discussed possibly waiting and closing the ends but they are microsized. I tried closing two myself and was over it. Some ends were split too. Looking forward to my locticians reaction when I go back. Your lucky your hair grows fast! I think its better to do it sooner rather than later. I don't hit a year until March 31.

That must have felt so great 😀 You did the right thing. Bunching is the devil! It plagues my locs in parts and I just started chopping some out too. It’s not terrible or as bad as it was previously, but it’s very annoying. Wow! Shocked that you literally had to start again (kind of) after washing your locs. I like your attitude towards your hair.

Bunching drove me crazy ngl but if you’re feeling discouraged and or intimidated by the thought of cutting, please don’t feel the need to. Eventually the bunching works itself out and becomes uniform with the rest of the locs.

You still gonna go through the bunching stage. It’s a apart of the process. Now you’re gonna have bunching on short locs. Sorry girl but if no one has ever told you, locs are a lifestyle not just a hair style.
@kyaranicole903 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment, but I have to respectfully disagree. lol Any hair style is just that to me- a style. It could be a style for a lifetime, or for a few weeks or for a few days. It's whatever I want it to be. Nothing has to be permanent. And I'm a person that really enjoys change and variety. Have been relaxed, natural, locd, red, blue, weaved, wig'd. I change my hair to FIT my lifestyle, not the other way around. BUT, I really and hoping the bunching won't be as bad as last time. I am going to do different things this time around to try to prevent it from getting as bad.

Does this mean you will never become fully locked? Because what your ends were will most likely be part of the normal locking process for your hair. So the hair that you have left will probably become like the ends that you cut off. Maybe interlocking would solve the problem because that might be a different locking process. What you have left looks really nice. So now we know what happens if you cut 10 months old baby locks.
@Rooted_Locs3 жыл бұрын
That’s what I’m thinking. Cause locs lock from tip to root, so 11 months really wasn’t enough time for the locs to mature. I also think interlocking might be beneficial for her lock size. Still beautiful regardless
@SureYoureRight3 жыл бұрын
It literally works itself out. Some people just don’t have the patience and I understand
@kyaranicole903 жыл бұрын
I don't "think" so- but hell LOL I don't know! haha I literally just did what felt right to me. The reason I don't think so is because I don't have any loose ends that are unravelling now. My hair is kind of used to the cylinder/coiled loc'd shape and it's not moving as much anymore. I think when you start locs with long hair, it really folds/twist/bends on itself to form the locs. That combined with improper braiding and banding= horrible bunching! So I think, and hope and pray- it won't happen again. but it deff shouldnt happen as bad!
@kyaranicole903 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I have been think about interlocking, but I am still undecided. I deff thought my hair was more locd than this, but I don't think the bunching will be as bad this time around. I left the ends of my hair out, and then it unraveled even more on me. and I wasn't braiding and banding. Hoping it will be different this time around! prayers up!
@kyaranicole903 жыл бұрын
ME! I am some people haha Hated feeling the different textures. I have always been impulsive with my hair. I feel like I "could have" been patient and miserable until it worked itself out, OR I could just cut it and be happy right now. My spirit needed the "happy", and it needed it now. So happy I cut it
@Tra_C3 жыл бұрын
The cut came out great! Are you planning on cutting again? It'll eventually bunch since it's part of the process. Or did I miss something? Either way, this cut suits you❣
@kyaranicole903 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I don't plan to cut it again right now, but who knows! I do like the short life. I believe this amount of bunching was caused by me not braiding and banding. It didnt have to get this bad. Bunching and budding are apart of the process, but it should be VERY different this time without the loose ends folding up. I should have been fixing them all along to prevent it from getting this bad, but I didnt know that then.
