I love Dennis Cooper! I love that you love Dennis Cooper! Have you had a chance to read more of his work yet?

Hi, I am still collecting all his books, most recently The Sluts, and Frisk. Still want to read them in order. Once I get them all I want to read them in order. What is your favorite?

@ i started reading him years ago. I also waited until I had the George Miles cycle to read them all in order. It’s a really staggering body of work. Out of the cycle I really love Try and Period, but they’re all fantastic. The benefit to reading them all in order is that you get to experience the structural similarities in the weird, funhouse mirror way that they are presented. It’s awesome. I love his latest, Flunker, too. Would love some more updates on you as your progress on your Cooper journey. All the best! :)

@@jamarskel4194 Oh I love this. Now I need his newest book. I still can't get My loose Thread and Wish out of my mind. I will definitely do an update, thank you. 📚❤️

I noticed too years ago you read a lot of books by men. I think it’s great.

Yes, I remember a time back in the day when I read Claude Browns Manchild in the Promised Land I tried to read every book by a Black Man and his experience. It became a crucial study of needing to make sure I listened to them and that they were heard.

Love the looseness and passion in this review. It all connected. Have you read Hal Bennett? I recently reread Wright's Black Boy, and Hal Bennett along with Baldwin's Go Tell it on the Mountain. All three deal with the same theme, being Black in America, and they're insights are just as applicable today as they were then.

That sounds good that those books connected. I have not read Hal Bennett, I just left the library and when I go back I will look into it. I checked my Libby app and nothing came up. I am looking him up on thrift books and Lots of Dark places and some others came up. Which one did you read along with Wright and Baldwin? And thanks so much for your comment.
