One thing I forgot to mention is the author, Emily Rath, made a statement to the team to stop creating booktok content in order to protect the players as they were not prepared to cater to the audience they were making videos for. (Taken from my description so more people can see it!)

This is also where I think social media fails society because people lose touch with reality
@EmilyReadsBooks7 ай бұрын
No that's so real cause it makes people think that other people only exist on screen but like we all are humans roaming the earth with feelings and dreams.

Omg this is some TEA!! I hope no one comes for you because that sort of behavior is literally sexual harassment, like they are going to their place of work and sexualizing them. As a nurse, this happens at work a lot, mostly from older men, and it is so inappropriate and violating

ERIN!!!! I also hope no one comes for meeee 😭 I just find this kind of behavior from anyone so yucky. I'm sorry you have to deal with it at work. It should NOT happen ever.

I think companies know exactly what they're doing, they know how feral booktok can be and want to tap into that hype. People however, don't realise how viral and hungry it can be and they are not prepared when it is directed at them.

I think they knew, but maybe not to the full extent (or they just don't care if it makes them money, I tend to agree with the latter but who knows). These readers really are hungry and it's sad that innocent people are kind of just thrown into it.

i'm so on felicia's side, if you and your husband are being harassed and you're seeing the same name and face come up over and over again you're not under any obligation to like RESEARCH who else could possibly be making these vile comments about your family. you're not even obligated to respond to an apology if you don't want to and it sounds like kierra's message to felicia probably wasn't much of an apology lol. i do put most of the blame on the kraken though, wennberg was just traded to my team's rivals (the rangers) and that's the only time i'm going to cheer for someone becoming a ranger because he deserved to get all the way out of that mess.

Alternate headline “porn obsessed influencer defends sexually harassing athletes” But yeah this lady basically said that because porn exists it’s ok to sexually harass women who market their looks. Regardless of their families or their professions or their feelings, according to this lady, if they’ve posted an attractive picture on the internet they’re fair game for harassment.

It rubs me the wrong way that Kiera is trying to evade all responsibility… if the genders were reversed and she was a dude, the team would be *flamed* for promoting it and sexualizing their players and the content creator would be *absolutely canceled* for making this content sexualizing the players. Disgusting.

So Emily Rath is from my city so it was so incredibly weird to have this happen so close to home. Another thing is there was some new drama happening in the last week or so- a booktoker casually posted a video with her husband in it and the girlies thought he was handsome. So, naturally, they started leaving sexually explicit comments to the point where the poster had to private her account. When called out, the girlies said that it wasn’t that serious and no big deal. It’s so very sad.

Ah! That's so cool. I bet it would be weird to hear about something like this to someone from your town. That is so nasty honestly that it got to the point they had to private their account. I really think social media has made it seem like these people are not real (like they live in our screens) and we can just say whatever we want with no consequences. It breaks my brain lol.

I've read a bunch of those (sports-romance). I don't like how hyper-aggressive the male characters always- Wait, did you just mention Icebreaker??? Nooooooooo!!!
@EmilyReadsBooks7 ай бұрын
I haven't read it! Just comparing for those who maybe would have read something more popular! I don't like the hyper aggression either. It's too much for me.

This girl went to the man’s job, screaming at him a bunch of sexual remarks, and somehow she is the victim?
