So… I grew up in a cult

Hey folks, here's a small glimpse into what life is like inside of a cult (and what it's like after!).
They always taught me that everyone out in the world was out to get me, but it's been the opposite. It's through the outside that I've learned what love really is. Thanks for giving me the chance to connect and share my story. It's scary! But I look forward to sharing more.

Drag is very healing!! Thank you so much for your honesty and vulnerability. I recently learned I have Complex PTSD, partly due to family circumstances and partly to due to religion. I would say you obviously do too. Figuring that out has helped me start to dismantle some of my trauma coping mechanisms. I know we all regret what trauma has stolen from us but I’m now also starting to embrace how it’s also made me a stronger and more compassionate person. I’m starting to be able to reframe my perspective on my trauma and it’s really helping me truly grow past it.
