1) I typically just leave the game running overnight while I'm asleep 2) I'm actually doing quite well on my studies, but both hoi4 and school consume quite some time 3) Try fixing the soviet army (and probably air too) debuffs and hold the line as much as you can and don't push at all until the debuffs are mostly gone, as well you might want to invade poland as early as possible so Germany has a weaker starting position (also use forts, it'll slow the enemy's advances
