Cats out of the bag, I'm moving to......
Finally moving...and to a whole new city!
What y'all think? Apartment1, 2, or 3?
I need the perfect balance of space, amenities, and location, but at my budget I have to compromise a lil bit.
Here's some tips tho for all y'all in the apartment hunt brigade.
Tip 1: ALWAYS ask for a rent special. They won't wave this in your face, so do your research to see if you can get free gifts/money or free rent!
Tip 2: Look around for how the grounds are kept! Is there dog poo on the ground everywhere, trash, packages thrown about?
Tip 3: Unless you need the accessibility, go with a top floor, west facing apartment for minimal noise (no upstairs neighbors), and maximal light (west facing apartments get the most light throughout the day!)
Tip 4: ALWAYS drive a bit around the area to see what you'll have access to! Location really can be a deciding factor in how well you'll adjust to a new space.
Tip 5: Prioritize what you NEED. For example, I NEED a gym and safe package delivery systems. You might prefer to exercise via swimming and so a pool could be a priority for you!
Tip 6: Plan ahead and schedule tours back to back all in one weekend to save time and energy!

Honestly I would have chose apartment one, it has all the things you wanted minus the location. I feel like because you genuinely liked it was great you might have to compensate for gas and travel but the space and energy is more important. Either way I’m happy for you!! Can’t stress enough how America is made for married couples...like taxes, housing, etc. is all better when you are married and living with someone. It makes no damn sense. The price difference between a 1 bd and 2 bd should be regulated because that is madness. Will say tho, 200 more every month amounts to $2400 more a year for rent.

The first apartment seemed the best, I say check the reviews on what the night life is like there could surprise you. Also the last one seemed fine as a runner up on because of the livelihood of the place, you also need to be careful of "deals" because they could have hidden fees somewhere eles in the contract. Other than that the first one was my favorite very spacious. Good luck 🍀🤓

I love you Will! Howeverrrr, when you said 1,400 for a 2 bedroom, I almost fell out of my chair. Sis, I have a mortgage for less, townhome 3br, 2.5 baths, garage, hardwoods, patio, screened, walk in closet with system, abt 2000 Sq ft, etc. Trust this is not a brag, cause its a blessing, paying that much for an apartment, makes my head hurt and my ears bleed. Out of curiosity, I priced apartments in my area and they run abt 1.4k month also. Its awful that they can charge what they do. They do it cause they can. People need a roof and a safe roof. You pay the rent .. I know everyone doesn't want to purchase a home, and that's alright too. But these rents are highway robbery. Now, off that!!' Congrats and you deserve all the wonderful things life has to offer.

Love Portland. Beautiful, clean, friendly city. I travel a lot and that has to be one of my favorite places. Phoenix, was too damn hot. I stayed in the pool the whole time, but is beautiful as well.

Portland oregan would be my choice too. West coast period. Florida is close to coast which is a must but too much humidity 😩 and Phoenix is land bound but I’m sure it’s beautiful and perfect choice. Ok so. My choice would’ve been #2 I love being high up and the view was spectacular. Also I loved the bathrooms. I’m pretty introverted and never have people over so it’s perfect for me and hubby. And walk in closets were a plus. Down side the living room was ridiculously small. You weren’t lying! I have a feeling you went with #3 seemed to be a great deal and functional. We shall see

I just move to Phoenix myself recently. I noticed that were have similar struggles when it comes to looking for apartment. I would honestly go with the first choice. I'm here for apartment numero uno. Location can be forgiven a bit, once you get familiarized with which shortcuts to take to get different places. And for sure if you have alot of stuff, more storage is very essential. I also liked the in unit washer and dryers. Though, I totally feel you on the rent specials. I was apartment hunting, myself a bit last year, and early this year. But given how minimal my funds are at the moment, I had to sacrifice quite a few amenities, in order to get something in my budget and would allow pets. And even with some places having awesome rent specials, the location, x amount of rental history, no pets allowed, and price kept me from applying many places. But yes on Valentine's day I finally applied for a small one bedroom place, I had wanted. And not sure if the stars were aligned just right or what. But that following monday, I got the call that I was approved and to come in and put down the deposit. I move in April 1st. And I'm kind of excited and nervous too. First place on my own. And with my state being in a lockdown with this virus going on, makes it tricky figuring out what is open and what isn't. But thankfully have family and friends willing to help out. Have a feeling you will pick the best match, for your needs too.🙂

more centrally located places (especially in super popular cities) are always less conveniently designed bc people that want to live there will sacrifice their wants/needs or pay WAY more money to get what they want, just to be “in the city”. i would definitely pick the 1st one. the location was kinda inconvenient, but the amenities and the checklist SNAPPED. and besides, who wants to be cramped in a expensive and small apartment just to experience Love and Hip Hop: Phoenix?

I don't require many amenities, but the apartment that I'm in now is somewhat spacious (2 bedroom with a roommate). I also have walk in closets so that is a MUST. So long as the place has an apartment I can comfortably live in, I can deal with it.

Apartment one is the best on its own, if you’re not taking other things into account. The fact of the matter is yes you live in your home but you also travel. So I actually think the third apartment is the best option. After all you get more space than you’ve already have and like you said you’re used to living in small spaces maybe you don’t need more. And this is coming from someone who is also lives in nothing but small spaces and one time I had a large space and I didn’t know wtf to do with it.

I live in NYC so all of these apartments look CRAZY good to me. My pick would be apartment number one. I love that balcony. I would pick one of the higher floors though. I can't have no hooligans trying to hop in through my windows or people walking by and seeing everything that I got.

The apartments on the higher levels could be cheaper due to the climate. Higher floors always experience the most heat from the sun which would result in a higher electric bill. I live on the top floor and I have huge floor to ceiling windows that makes my apartment feel so horrible in the summer it’s impossible to not use my ac. So yeah keep that in mind.

Which apartment??? I like the first one of the three. You seemed to vibe with the actual space better than the other two. I think of it this way. Of 1 and 3, where are you going to spend the most time? If the apartment itself is your main draw, it's 1 all the way. If amenities are the main draw, go for three.
