I imagine that it's always going to be strange for someone who is really known and well recognized for their language-related videos to be considered "famous", but you are really well known in the community. I haven't seen too many of your videos, but can certainly see the passion you have for them. I really enjoyed this conversation with regards to being able to make progress videos rather than these "showing-off" videos and I think progress videos will draw more people to want to learn languages and not feel intimidated by trying to learn a new language. I think if we can see the struggles that polyglots face when learning languages, people will think that it is certainly ok to struggle. I imagine most people who want to learn a language always feel like they're bad at learning languages, but it's very normal to progress slowly. Anyways, I'm rambling now, but yea... super happy with the video. Thanks for both of your insights!

I actually fell in love with English the way you both are describing. My first impression was "this is stupid I'm never going to use it" but once I fell in love it became a part of me. When I very sadly had to admit to being native fluent and not a learner I grieved because I was so in love with the learner journey for so long. When I picked the next stage I knew I wanted to open the doors to Asian languages and Korean became the pick to act as a "gateway drug" to Asian languages with the simpler writing system and I ended up falling deeply in love yet again and I feel like I started a new long term relationship with a new language and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with it. :)

One of my favorite languages to learn is telugu because its so beautiful and the way they speak. I also really like turkish. And also colelangs is the second youtuber who inspired me to learn like 20 languages. Not fluently though. But i am a fast learner. I even make my own languages and i help myself with grammer and the order of some alphabets. Like for example i made a cyrillic based language. And i added almost every cyrillic letter to it and it was all in alphabetical order so that i can learn all the cyrillic languages :)

Yo personalmente uso Duolingo + vídeos de KZbin referentes al idioma + series + canciones y lo más importante: leer, leer, leer y leer en el idioma que aprendes, buscando las palabras y frases que no sepas. A mi me gusta leer temas de Wikipedia en italiano, por ejemplo. Leer es la clave, en lo que menos te das cuenta, adquieres el lenguaje. Leer te da la base de las otras 3 habilidades del aprendizaje de idiomas. Pero sin dejar la gramática de lado que de vez en cuando hay que consultar

I hope Cole would take up studying any Indian/South Asian languages.... We have 1.3+ billion people in India alone let alone south Asia but we don't get represented that much .... Most of them r drawn to Japanese, Chinese or Korean when they think of Asian languages maybe because they have more soft power...😔😔😔 Maybe start with an Indo-Aryan language Hindi which basically is the same as Urdu so its a 2 in 1 package😅 Or a Dravidian language like Tamil or Kannada...
