I think attack speed should be based on weapon size. A 2hander should not be as fast as a dagger.

@@JELKEK Not really sure how you came to that conclusion. It makes sense for a smaller weapon to attack faster than a larger weapon, and inversely the larger weapon will do more damage per hit to balance the slower attack speed.

I genuinely think that one of the things that threatens the game the most, is an over abundant amount of Content creators. There are an abundant amounts of people already referring to it as a launch, and this is already being bled dry for every last piece of content, people who haven't even played the game are going to have burnout.

Kickstarter backer here. 8 Years of development and this where we are at, very worrying. I'm starting to think a lot of the showcases we've watched over the years are vertical slices / proof of concepts. Very worrying considering scope of the game. Again I understand it alpha were on different server builds / branches, but my point is it's 8 years on! and we've half a fleshed out biome and still very buggy servers, missing so many systems and much content.

Exactly.. We had a week of Steven’s interviews and I wonder if anyone asked that question to him. Why many of the things we were shown during livestreams are not present in alpha2? Where is the character creator, races, biomes mentioned, seasonal weather, households at? I just think that Steven should either: 1. Stop spreading fake news because it is not helping the trust we have in him 2. Go stealth mode for a few months and make a great comeback at December with all the content promised in the phase II.

there are more version builds, than just the one A2 build imagine you want to build a house, but instead you split the foundation, walls, roofs, interior, etc. in different parts even though a lot of the single parts are finished, you dont just slap it on top of each other and hope it stands you get out the foundations, and work your way to the top, ensuring its not gonna crumble step by step the point is, right now its #1 priority to invite people to the house and let them stomp and jump on the foundation if this holds, add walls, add interior, add roofs and rinse and repeat weird explanation, i know, but maybe it helps some people

Also a Kickstarter backer here. Yeah its been a long wait but you also have to remember they started with nothing. It takes time to build a team, plan what you're going to do and for that team to get into the stride of things. Hell, just making the tools to start making a game can take years. Development of any project comes with wrong turns, failed experiments and time spent researching novel solutions. They're probably more like year 2-3 of actual development. I'm expecting this Alpha to be rough, they have a lot to do still.

My major concern for the game is take for instance a family man like myself. Wife, 3 kids and a fulltime Job50+ hours a week. Can someone that can only play 10-12 hours a week ever get to experience the things a person that doesn't work a regular job can experience? I highly doubt it in this game.

Hows gear? So far it sound pretty basic.

It's pretty bare bones atm. Just enough to get us going until they take another pass at it. Gear drops are not common but also not sparse enough to make you feel like your falling behind, and you can always cash in glint for silver to buy odds and ins pieces. If that doesn't work crafting fills in as long as you have the recipes which drop from quests and such. Stats on gear are pretty typical, +str, accuracy, crit, constitution etc... as well as set bonuses.

Thanks for the video! :) Why does the movement look so outdated? Best regards! Edit: New World (1,6k hours deep) - that game is great, but mismanaged in the worst way possible. From its engine, its missing QA before launching updates and the whole communication of the leading dev team. New World in its core was/Is awesome, but that doesn't help. Yesterday, New World released its 3rd Copy&Paste-Halloween-Event with the same rewards as in 2022, which we all unlocked 2 years ago. I hope AoC and other games will never manage their own game like AGS does with their game.

Character movement feels and looks stiff. It's far from complete. But it does feel responsive and very playable. As I said with action combat, blocking, and dodging it very much reminds me personally of new worlds movement. It's not the same. But the closest comparison imo.

I personally disagree with the opinion on PvP-MMOs. People want it and have wanted it for many years; there just wasn’t anything to play. Lineage 2 didn’t die because of PvP, but because of closed dungeons and updates that destroyed the open-world feel. Combined with farming bots that NCSOFT didn’t address, the game died. Of course, this style of PvP-MMO isn’t for everyone, but "carebears" have WoW. For ex-L2 players, WoW is a boring game because it lacks the PvP aspect - the pursuit of better gear so you can kill mobs faster… :)) Recently, Throne and Liberty was released, which appealed to PvP players, but it has a pay-to-win aspect that will likely kill the game too. Not to mention the fact that the game revolves around DPS, tank, and healer roles - no buffer, healer, crafter, spoiler-type or effective crowd control. There is an empty spot in the market for this niche MMO genre, but definitely not due to a lack of players or interest. Beside that, nice Q/A video. gj

@@ZephyrorOG not sure I complained at all. I was informing others in my stream based on questions asked, is there a lot of pvp. I like pvp. I left my flag on because I wanted to pvp. I'm flagged purple. Which means anyone that attacks me and we fight, there is no corruption. You only gain corruption when you attack a green and they do not fight back and you kill them. What's so hard to understand about this 🤣. I haven't complained a single time. Someone asked if there was a lot of pvp. I told them the truth lol.

Most testers that applied default behavior did not experience as much pvp (sometimes close to not at all). which is exactly what I did. All I'm doing here is reporting what I experienced. I didn't mention the story books of reports submitted because it doesn't matter unless you Intrepid. Intrepid had many meetings with its testers and told us exactly what they wanted us to do and collect data on. And we did exactly that. I am well aware this game is a alpha. I've been the one warning people of that for years. Games is broken, we are here to help fix. But people have questions, "what was this like?" "How did this go?". I answer.

Not sure in the video when I said I didn't want to test? I was answering questions from twitch chat. I give honest answers. I sit in the discord meetings, listened to what intrepid asked us to do to deliver them data. And I had a blast doing it. Not sure what else you want. Watch someone else 🤣
