As someone who manages Airbnbs for my work and my career. This is definitely not unheard of. I could make a complete podcast on all of the horrific events that have happened in these homes. Hosting is very much a rollercoaster and a learning curve. But besides your occasional nightmare, you’ll end up loving it and make amazing connections. So from one host to another, good luck!!! ( always always double make sure and verify the person before they book, especially if ur not on site, they usually have reviews from hosts you can view. ) Like I said it is very much a learning curve and you’ll learn as you go. So sorry this happened to your beautiful home.

Don’t let this damper your dreams of hosting too much. There are a few hiccups but it really is so worth it to stick it out and learn the ways of hosting. You can always look into having a manager or a cleaner on site that can go and check in on the guests, aka what I do for out of state hosts alongside my own hosting. But good luck! I am a really huge fan sorry this has happened to your home, which you worked hard for. Also i work on Airbnb , if someone email you from safety team please take it seriously and trust our team if we say “please vacate the guest immediately” as we certainly avoid that kind of situation. And ofcourse Airbnb reimburses you the amount that guest should be paying because it was not your fault at all, and definitely since you reported the issue to our support line and provided documents like photos or videos you will get reimbursement from the damages, it will just take time because of the verification and stuff. Tips: make sure to list all your house rules on your listing. And only accept guest who has good reviews and is verified

Sorry that this was your experience @MyLifeasEva. As a fellow Airbnb host there are resources available through the website that you can utilize to ease any discomfort you may have. One of them is requesting that guest identity be verified for instant bookings. As relates to the immediate cancellation saga, perhaps Alaska was found to have some type of criminal record? It definitely sounds like a very strange/unusual request from airbnb to evict this person. I hope your bookings moving forward will be a success. I have been a host for two years without issue. I’m so sorry to hear about how your time, money and effort to set up your house (as well as going OUT of the way for Alaska to have a good stay) was so disrespected. Unfortunately there are people who (even without the influence of shroom, or alcohol for that matter) don’t have the basic understanding that they have been let into a house based on TRUST, and that they need to have the basic decency to ensure to leave the place in the SAME well-kept situation as it was given to them when checking in. It’s not the public street, where you think you can toss garbage on the street simply because you aren’t accountable for it. Upset to hear this and hoping that Airbnb reimburses you. It’s also a learning lesson to how to better assess/ conduct checks on people looking to book your place. The world is a bad place but that doesn’t mean it’s the end! ☺️

I have never understood why someone would let strangers into THEIR HOME. I know it probably pays well, but it would not be worth to me. You never know what kinda people they are... and the idea that strangers are touching my things, sleeping in my bed, using my kitchen, my shower... gross... omg that's a freaking horrible idea for me! You never know, these people might be on drugs, be sick, may break something, ouch this would be a nightmare for me, I'm panicking just from the idea of it! haha but I guess that most people wouldn't mind... I would allow this only in case in which the house would be only for renting, without me ever living or staying there. I'm just super sensitive and overprotective about my stuff, things that are deer to me and don't want a stranger to touch any of that! 🙃

You can check how many people enter on you house and charge her for each person, also charge her for everysingle item. Because in the Airbnbs said that they have charge for everything. Not every people are like this but that people was so disrespectful

This was the most effed up story I’ve heard after Coachella but it comes as no surprise. Definitely wouldn’t have stayed in New York tho, once I heard some bs was going down I probably would’ve flown there and forced them out (I do not play when it comes to respect of my area/things lol) Sounds to me like there was way more than four people there tho, I’d be shocked if four people caused THAT much damage. Definitely had to be doing drugs, I’m like is that why air bnb kicked them out? Lmao I’m sure you have so many questions and so do I 😂 I admire you for staying so positive and not letting this change your mind about hosting! ❤ I hope you get reimbursed for your broken stuff, that’s just soooo shitty. To break things…. That’s a whole new low 🤦🏻♀️

KZbin definitely knows what I like from this woman. The last time I binged her channel was two years ago, and the same thing happened then. It started due to a video being recommended where she was spilling some tea about getting scammed. 😂 Anyway, we back in this b****! What's tea sis?😅

i have only rented an airbnb once in my life and it was very recent, i live in India and i went on a three day trip with 5 other people so we stayed at the house we used all their amenities but the day we left we made sure we treated the place like our own home and we cleaned up we took out the trash washed all the utensils we used and took the leftover food out of the fridge. Airbnbs are such a beautiful experience i hope people can respect this! I wish to rent out your house once, it looks beautiful ! I'm sorry all of that happened to you hope its better now. Much love

I am so sorry for all of the drama you had to go through. It was a tough lesson but you’re not going to let it stop you. And judging by the pica, it’s clear why air bnb wanted her out. That wasn’t Alaska’s first time trashing a rental.
