Congratulations, Gardening is so peaceful. I wish you luck. A little advice. Look up when to plant certain veggies in your area (Farmers Almanac or your county extension office). Your warm season veggies may not make it in the cold. You can start some indoors. And they need more space. For example, one of those compartments will hold one tomatoe plant. You can grow in anything that will hold soil (milk jugs, soda bottles, plastic totes, cardboard boxes etc.) Reasearch which plastic is safe. Keep your carrots moist until they sprout. If they dry out at all they won't make it. Hand pollinate your corn since you don't have alot of them. Put them where they'll get the most sun. There's an app called Planter that will help with spacing, seasons and pest control, etc. HAPPY PLANTING SOIL SISTAH

I started 3 yrs ago and had some failures, but then to finally getting some more consistent successes. My gardening journey has made me so proud, and the things that I’ve learned along the way have blown my mind. Especially the things God was able to impart to me just from gardening. May God bless the work of your hands sis!

All of the cold weather seeds you can start now I side. Cabbage, collard, kale ect hope this help.You can grab 5 gallon buckets to plant in a bucket garden. Then when it's time to move just load your buckets up easily 😂😂😂 I have done it lol I uses the cheapest dirt mixed with black cow manure and perlite.

Let me just say I'm proud of you for growing your own food. Gardening is a lot of trial and error. Some things will go great and others not so much. Learn from it to do better the next season. Just an observation, the tomatoes and peppers will definitely give you heartache if you don't thin them out as the plants get a few inches tall. Each pepper and tomato plant will take up one of those pockets each. Trust me, from someone who made the mistake of putting 2-3 plants in each space. They will produce but it won't be much and the fruit will be small. No need to panic though, just budget out to get more growing containers. If you go to my about and get my email address and email me I will send you some grow bags to help you get a good start. Good luck on your garden journey and welcome to the community. 😊

Not sure if this has been said yet, but consider keeping the basil plant in the house or garage with a grow light until the final frost in your zone. Also, check the root ball and base of the basil plant. It might be more than one plant that can be gently separated by the roots and then placed in multiple areas of our garden.

Hi lady, just happened to see your channel. Welcome to gardening. We all started like you. My only thing is to remember those little seeds grow up to be big plants. How many you can grow in a small space is limited. You may want to look up Square Foot Gardening to get an idea of spacing.

You can put leaves and sticks in the bottom of your raised bed . It turns to compost eventually. Plus, you will not need a lot of soil to feel up the bed

I’ve been trying seeds the past few years. I haven’t been very successful. I have grown basil from seed. They definitely need some sun and lots of water…same with tomatoes. The peas and beans need something to climb, but I haven’t been successful. I grew some carrots last year. They take a long time and need a loose soil to grow right. If they start growing, you could put them in another container later. That’s what I did. Probably don’t use your plant food until you have little plants. Wondering what state you’re in. I’m in Florida. Good luck!

The whole part of a garden is most of us have no dang clue wtf we’re doing we throw stuff in and hope it works lol. The first year I followed planting guides… the next year I in fact did not. Goodluck it’s addictive very fast! and even if some things fail you can switch things up the following season!
@kandyrose214914 күн бұрын
You can grow in buckets totes and other smaller containers that would be much easier to move. You can empty the raised beds but it’s lots of work and your plants will have to be moved to containers it’s a lot of work. There are many gardeners on KZbin that garden on the cheap. I to use my snap for some seeds and plants.

Congrats on your gardening journey! I'm starting my garden again after 4 years & feel like a total newbie. My advice for a beginning gardener is to look up your growing zone by your zip code & find out your growing zone/last frost date. Then, go look up what you're growing & find out the best time to plant them for your zone/last frost date. Some of your seeds are warm weather vegetables (i.e. tomatoes, peppers green beans & basil) & might not survive if you get a frost in the next month or so. I just don't want you to lose plants because they were lost to cold weather. Wishing you luck & excited to see your journey!

What’s up lady! First off good job and video! Welcome to the garden community! You did a good job with everything and you should get good results. Don’t overthink it, it’s not hard but it does take some “know how”. Your compost/manure and potting mix is good. Where do you live? It may be too cold for some of the things you’re trying to grow. Just google where u are and your grow/hardiness zone. To keep this short, I’ll give one recommendation: get some plastic cups and start some seeds in the house. (Just in case you lose some to the cold) We’re posting a video tomorrow that should help you out with that. Come over to the channel and check us out. Again, good work!
@feliciathomas28114 күн бұрын
You can do it. Just don't overthink it. Also i am a frugal gardener. The one thing i have discovered during my years of gardening. Don't let the labels get you. Those expensive soils are just expensive. You can use a low cost potting mix and just put fertilzer in it and mix it in. Use a granular fertilizer to mix in and a liquid fertilizer to treat plants every couple of weeks. There are some really great websites that actually teach you a lot. Just research and you will do fine. BABY STEPS. Good luck nothing is more gratifying than seeing those seeds sprout grow and give you veggies. Then you will have the BUG......THE GARDENING BUG THAT IS.....
