Shen is annoying. he can survive Jax and become very impactful in the mid to late game while keeping the Jax splitpush at bay. Also Shen has an inherent counter to Jax his kit with the Blocking auto attacks. Assuming you're picking up Jax and you're at lowish Rank, you should worry about Garen, Cho Gath and maybe Nasus. Overal if you're good with Jax you should be able to at least survive all champions.
