So I Tried the New Ratchet and Clank Randomizer...

In this Randomizer All Gold Bolts Speedrun of Ratchet and Clank 1, all the Planets, Gadgets, and Items are randomized. So, I'm going to have to figure out how to collect all 40 Gold Bolts in a landscape completely different to the normal speedrun. I may be the world record holder for Ratchet 1 All Gold Bolts, but does that mean I'm good enough at this? Only one way to find out.

Latest version is tuned so you're not required to use speedrunning strats. You should be fine with doing it casually.

Xem, I'm NGL - I appreciate that you're comitting so much to YT, and I am happy that you're passionate about growing your channel, and that you are doing your due research and so on. But your overall attitude towards your viewers, twitch or otherwise, when they provide valid (harsh, maybe, but still valid) criticism about how you're growing your channel really rubs me off the wrong way. People have a point - There's a lot of people who sub to speedrunning channels, however that in of itself is a niche category. Within that niche, you're in an even nichier niche which is RAC. People telling you that it's going to be hard (not impossible, hard) to reach 100k from your current 20k isn't an absurd observation to make. Hell, I'm not even subscribed to you on KZbin because you don't upload as frequently as I'd like, because the content you upload isn't to my liking, and because in all honesty your current thumbnail "setup" just doesn't feel like you; It feels like generic youtuber#593 with preset reaction faces for thumbnails, which just feels off when you're such an expressive and fun personality. Maybe I'm not explaining myself the right way, but that's how I feel. My honest criticism at this point is that you're a great streamer, and you put out amazing content, but your personality and therefore content isn't really adapted to KZbin yet. I don't feel like I'm watching a youtube video when I watch any of your videos, I feel like I'm watching a twitch stream first, youtube video second; And there's people out there that do that and that works for them, but honestly I don't feel like it works for you (And yes, I'm aware I'm commenting this on a VOD within a VOD channel, this criticism still applies to your regular videos, I just finally decided to post this on this video). Feel free to disregard this comment, or mock it, or state that you've done your research and looked at the trends and analytics and whatnot; At the end of the day, you likely have indeed done those things, and have a point on them, but being successful on KZbin isn't just playing to statistics or analytics, it's playing to your audience, something I feel you're just not nailing right now. Note that I'm not in any way hating on you; I want you to grow both as a streamer and a KZbinr, I want you to have a greater audience. You deserve one, and doing so would by proxy only bring more people to the RaC community / Speedrunning community, which is always a nice plus; I just feel you need to adapt a bit better from Twitch to YT.

You need HEN on ps3, which is a form of homebrew. Then, you download another program in the Ratchet speedrunning discord called "racman", and you're good to go!

Wow, I had no idea that there was a Randomizer mod for Ratchet and Clank. How does that work? Since all the weapons and gadgets spawn at random locations wouldn't it be impossible to beat if the mod spawned the equipment at the wrong places?

Dark Souls randomizers also have systems in place where key items required to progress are always obtainable so you can't get soft locked.

@@dawnstar9557 Most randomizers have a complicated system known simply as "logic" for this purpose. This system restricts where items can be placed to ensure that every seed is possible. For example, logic prevents items being placed in locations that cannot be accessed without that same item, unless there is more than one of that item (for example, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has 4 bottles, and OOT rando's logic allows up to 3 to be in locations that require a bottle to collect), but it also has the much more complicated task of making sure that items are not locked behind other items that they themself lock - for an example from Rac 1, if the raritanium is placed on either Nanotech upgrade, logic SHOULD prevent the O2 mask being where the Persuader is in vanilla. For most randomizers this system works perfectly and the game can always be finished, but because it is generally quite a complex system newly created randomizers can have errors in their logic that can create unbeatable seeds.

Also, they need to fix these errors so they won't make the run impossible to beat. I should try these Randomizer mods, it'd be interesting to have the hydro-pack and not have the 02 Mask yet, using the pack in that water flooding segment would make that segment a breeze since you can swim faster, it'd be satisfying for sure.
