This game is probably the closest we’ll get to a David Lynch meets Takashi Miike film. It clearly takes inspiration from both directors and their style but does it in its own way. Suda51 is easily one of the best video game auteurs of this generation

Its so nice that you really like one of my favorite games. You'll be happy to know that all loadscreen and framerate issues in this game are solved by simply playing the Gamecube version.

For anyone wondering what's the best way to play: avoid the PS2 version. PC version is the best, but GC is also good

The PC version being the best one? thats rare lol. Ill check it out

the pc version has some graphical issues on my machine what werent in the gc version and the gc version has more visual coherence, but nowdays is the pc version the easiest way to play definitely. its a pity that it wasnt ported to other platforms. it would look good beside no more heroes 1-2-3, tsa and the silver case 2425... also i hope that the upcoming flower sun rain remaster/remake will come to more platforms than k7...

Truly the definition of a cult classic, loved this game so much and played it over and over again because there's almost nothing else quite like it. Thanks for the great review! "The name's Andrei Ulmeyda, I am the man with the plan!"

The closest comparison out of film would be Takashi Miike, who has been mentioned by Suda (as a whole cameo even, if I remember correctly) in No more heroes 2.
@BB0ysGames3 жыл бұрын
Miike is a shitty director tho, SUDA51 is much better in terms of storytelling.

Killer 7 is beautifully bizarre and ripe with artistic creativity, it's definitely my favorite Suda 51 game out of all his games!😁👍
@hasi7066 жыл бұрын
this story is Very Good, however I feel like it is a bit unfourtnate that some of the smiths like kaede, coyote, con, and kevin aren't given as much screentime as dan, garcian, and harman

For rlz, Killer 7 is on my top ten games of all time. Last time i did a count it was number 3. Not sure it it's still that high, but still, this game is amazing.
@thorhighheels10 жыл бұрын
VZedshows I can totally see that! I mean, I only just played it for the first time, and I already hold the game in pretty high regard. It'll kinda depend on what I think of the game a few years from now, but I can totally see this appearing on my top ten favorite games list. And if not, then it'll definitely be on my top ten PS2 games.

Most underrated game of all time.. The Russian roulette scene with him saying i will let you on a secret on how to hit on women with 100% success, and saying women are all the same and blasting himself was too fucking ahead of it's time... the storyline and characters are fucking brilliant. no more heroes and the killer is dead are not even close to this games quality.... it's a shame relly.

Just so you know, Lolipop Chainsaw is not a Suda game. He stopped directing after No More Heroes 1 and only began again in Travis strikes again.

I first played the ported ps2 version. The GameCube version is the best as the frame rate is better for shooting and improved visual graphics which where missing in the ps2 port.

I put so many hours into this game back in the day. I loved it though I admit the hotel and school levels are way too difficult. I had to cheese the game by exploiting Kevin's invisibility skill and spam Mask's explosion attacks. Despite this, I still had a blast with the game.

This game really blew my mind back in high school. Nothing Suda51 has made since has come close... BONUS FACT : I was listening to the radio while playing this originally. I had just got to the Ayane Blackburn boss (literally on the cutscene beforehand) when the DJ goes "and here's the new single from Kasabian!!" It was called Shoot The Runner. I'm the King and she's my Queen, Bitch.

I'm sure the comments here are already awash with this same sentiment (haven't scrolled not going to)... but uh... Thor... My Guy... The gamecube Ver. It might be redundant - well no, fuck that, it WOULD be redundant - to see a video on that version, stacked up to the PS2 port - and even then, maybe stacked-up-stacked-up against the now existing Steam port - to culminate in one grand ever-loving stack-fuck. Even so, it'd be pretty cool to see. The Cube version is a good bit leaner; Those ugly load times, stutters, and even the kinda washed out color depth of the PS2 version, pales noticeably in compare to the OG, and having a Steam edition out there so more people can experience this great, for cheap, without having to hook up the old consoles to the old glowy box, is also nice. So yeah. Like this comment for comprehensive Killer 7 version comparison a la' Thor?

Awesome video man, I just heard of this game an hour ago and thought I'd see what it was about, then I see that you'd done a video on it, so I thought I'd give it a watch. It almost seems ahead of it's time, in it's style and gameplay. If I ever have time I may play this one :-)

If you want to play this game today: Pay $40-$80 for a discs-only to complete copy of killer7 on the GameCube Or Pay $20 for a PC Steam Key The PS2 version is complete ass. It looks like a PS1 game, as you can see in the footage here. It may be cheaper but it’s definitely not the best solution, especially considering the PC port is a thing.

Looks cool! I think see videos about it from time to time but always forget about it coz it's so different from other video games that my memory doesn't have anything familiar to anchor my understanding of it. you should definitivly try out Killer Is Dead and Lollipop Chainsaw as they are IMO the best Suda games. Shadow of The Damned is ok but gets a bit boring cuz of repetitive gameplay. It has a cool style though and has great humor. (Dick jokes for everybody!)
