Hi Sherry! Just wanted to share a tip. I have found that it is helpful to use a mirror or other reflective surface under your molds when using your UV lamp. There's a reason the insides and most resin tray bottoms have reflective surfaces.you may still need to flip but won't take near as long.

Lovely! I made a UV shield out of cardboard to put over the front of my UV lamp so that there aren't UV waves hitting my active working area and accidentally curing up the stuff I'm still working with. Has helped keep me from accidentally curing things that were not ready for the lamp.

Hey Sherry the reason that you are getting skins on top is because the light is reaching the other molds even though they aren't under it. If there is an un obstructed line between uv resin and the light or a window with sun showing it will start curing. 🐰💙🐰. Love the bubbles

It created a crust because u had the uv light facing your other prepared un cured pieces so the light started to cure those cus they were too close to your lamp. Always have it facing away. I made a door out of aluminum foil over cardboard that I prop up against the opening so the light doesn't escape and it can bounce off my homemade foil door and cure pieces in all directions. U should also have the base of ur light aluminum foil or a chrome or mirror so the underbelly of your pieces cure at the same time as well. You might not have to flip them over for additional curing. Hope this helps and makes sense. Tfs your beautiful art.

These are really unique and very beautiful ❤. I bought the chameleon powders and received them yesterday. I was so excited to use them today. I made coasters and a coaster holder early this morning. I mixed the colors in resin then added that to my darkened resin in the molds. I am looking forward to tomorrow to de-mold. I am a newbie at resin so I want to thank you for showing how easy it is to get the holder out of the mold. 😂I was wondering how I would accomplish it😂.

I'm guessing you can only do this bubble technique with the UV resin??? Such a cool idea!!
@joallawestervelt69182 жыл бұрын
OMG!!! Sherry those are sooo beautifully awesome. Hey a tip I have seen Julie use when brushing on mica powders. When done, She holds it over a garbage bin and gives it a short blast of canned air to get rid of the excess which cuts down on the floaters. I also wonder if you used a stiffer brush, like a shading/blending brush to put on your powders. You can get into the deeper crevices better and make them a bit darker if you wanted. These tips are merely my humble suggestions. I love love this technique. Now I have to find a UV light to buy and price out UV resin. Oh I also need to pick up a nice sized mirror to put underneath the UV light to help in curing, as was suggested by one of your other viewers in the last video. Thank you so much for sharing. I certainly want to try this. 💜🤗💜

Hi Sherry, I love these bubble coasters. I was also wondering if we have to use UV resin with the bubbles. I do have the light and I can find some UV resin if I must. Thank you. ❤️
@melimel92652 жыл бұрын
Yes u actually have to use uv resin. It has to cure fast as the bubbles won't last that long if u use 2 part resin.
@Mixing-It-Up-with-Gigi11 ай бұрын
I made my first attempt, all turned out well except for two problems. One had water stains on dark blue, i tried to clean with alcohol after curing more. Still tacky, now streaked a bit. Can I put another coat of uv resin over the top in hopes it will return the sheen. Secondly, the uv resin pulled away, so there is just mica powder in one small section. Im hoping to repair it with a tiny bit of uv resin with a paint brush?

🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩omg love it! Ive made two coffee tumblers and did them like that and now I will try this coaster set. Tia. Cheers🍾 fr. Ontario Canada🇨🇦. New Subscriber🍾🍾🍾also when I do uv keychains or tumblers I put a big size piece of foil over my lamp and cover everything that way I find the light reflects better😉😉😉. But hey I'm a newbie still learning who knows maybe I'm not doing it right. But thet always turn out perfect. Have a blessed day🌹
