Hello, hello! It's been a hot minute, and this video itself is already just over three weeks late, sorry about that! As such, with a topic moving at such an insane pace and of such magnitude, a fair amount of the info here is already a bit out of date, but fret not I will correct myself, elborate, and cover all of these things in later videos, as I mentioned (though please, do feel free to correct me in the comments, as long as you're civil about it, it's good for the algorithm). Again, a huge thanks to Lockstin for giving me a hand with this video, it was an honor to work together with him again after all these years, and I hope we can make something more out of it. Something I like about the leaks where there describe a prototype of Pokémon myths is how it resembles real life. Many religious books like the Bible did changed overtime to suit the cultural trends and moral shifts over the centuries. For example there often omit the existence of other gods from a time where Yahvé used to be part of the polyteistic belief system of Ancient Mesopotamia, or how one saint or another was actually a woman, or in the 1970s a group of archeologists found pages known as the Gospel of Judas where they depict him as an ally of Jesus rather than a traitor. This kinda feels like we found an archaic version of the myths of Sinnoh, what there originally looked like before there where water down over the years.

Just realized something interesting. The 16 pieces of the shell are the types of pokemon if you remove normal and fairy. Or an explanation that the fairy type came later in-world as well.

A seal came out of the ocean to sunbathe, and left its skin on the rocks to dry. (Without its seal skin, it's just a human woman). A hunter steals the skin, marries the skinless seal, has some children, and eventually the seal finds her skin in the man's closet, puts it back on, and swims away. What Game Freak have written is very similar to this; nothing unusual there.

It makes me very curious as to what is the cause of such strife

I know there’s multiple different, conflicting versions of the Pokemon Creation myth, but the few that I have read have portray Palkia as a female and ancestor to “Humans” and Dialga as a male and ancestor to “Pokemon,” which makes more sense to me considering Palkia (both forms) appear more humanlike to me (the Origin form resembles a centaur which is half man) and dialga remains quadruped in both forms. “Pearl” being feminine and “diamond” being masculine also makes more sense to me, but that’s just my take. I would be interested in a video that goes in depth into all versions of the creation myth, and it’d be even better if you could collaborate with someone fluent in Japanese to confirm the translations we were given, because there’s always something altered or loss in translation, particularly because of cultural differences.
@BisaPKMN11 күн бұрын
You might've read one of the later iterations then, which, IIRC, make that switch, but yeah, details are very inconsistent between them all. @@BisaPKMNso theres actually a good explanation for this In this version of the myth, Dialga is in fact, the girl. And Palkia is the boy. In another version of the myth, which was written after this one, Arceus is referred to as male as "arceus", but also transforms into a woman to mate with a human male to give birth to Palkia and Dialga, who are referred BOTH male. now, in official media, palkia and dialga are only ever referred to as "it" Or "he", so it can be assumed gamefreak settled on them both being masculine deities along with giratina, who is referred the same. And also decidedly not lovers, or barely getting along in general. (Lol) Also, theres a few references to their forms being very different, likely representing the opposite sides of arceus, when in their final designs they have similar features shared with giratina as well as arceus (such as how they all have similar faces), showing how they ultimately decided on the more "opposite twins" dynamic. This lines up with how they ultimately decided to make the lake trio almost like "archangels" created by arceus, who carry the power of the red chain that can calm Dialga and Palkia's rage (i find it interesting that apparently the red chain does not work on Giratina, however theres no explanation on this. Feel free to theorize

@@Shinntokui mean, the genders of their myth dont seem to "necessarily" matter to gamefreak at times, for example Lunala is Camazotz, despite Camazotz being a male when Lunala is supposedly female. Zacian is also "female", but partially based on Skoll, who is a male. there isn't a clear distinction of which one is "which" either, they seem to be more based on izanami and izanagi as a CONCEPT more than individually. However there is a draft where they are referred to gods of light and darkness, and as izanami and izanagi are creation and death, I suppose Dialga was "izanami" (who is the woman), as he was darkness but then again I am a big fan of the spinoffs, where they often call legendaries gendered pronouns 😭 so I kinda just get used to whatever gamefreak calls them there

@@NicaNicu31 Arceus is literally not God (I'm assuming you reffer to the judeochristian one, Yaweh) He's more like an amalgamation of "holy/divine" traits that are common across the many skyfathers and similar deities in various religions. If anything, the PokeCreation mythos is closer to Greek mythology than anything from Judeochristian mythology. Arceus is the "top dog" yet not invincible and defeats a group of powerful Giants, *similar* to Zeus taking on the Titans. Then Giratina is an amalgamation of the deities that people erroneosly frame as "evil", characters like Hades that have been misrepresented by people that only have christianity as their point of refference so instantly say "that's their devil". While Dialga and Palkia lore takes more from Japanese mythology.

@@jvbon646 Yes, I didn't mean it like that. What I meant is that I dislike the direction Pokemon went with the sacralization of Pokemon into a veritable holy pantheon. I preferred it back when it was all tall tales of myths and legends told by unreliable narrators, when we didn't really know the objective truth and it was more likely that all the stories were just how ancient humans rationalized things they did not understand. *Big strong water Pokemon? He must have created the seas!* Like the weird lore such as the child turning into Kadabra, which is clearly not true and is more of an urban myth. But now we have an alchemical circle explaining the gods and their dynamics and it's supposed to be more or less canon? I dunno, when I was playing Gen 4 I took the whole Arceus thing as a local religion, but now people all around the world swear by Arceus and it seems to be pushed as canonically the objective truth. Not a huge fan. To be fair, I am a bit biased by being a huge Mewtwo fan and being disappointed he's no longer canonically the strongest Pokemon.

@@NicaNicu31 I meeeeeeaaaann.... Not to be that guy, but Mewtwo was never the most powerful Pokemon, not even back in Gen1 when all we had was the 151 ._. It's more or less a title to hype it up (tho it WAS the most powerful by game mechanics) But in lore, he was unable to beat Mew, they both fought to a standstill except that one was giving his all while the other wasn't taking it seriously (as he saw Mewtwo as a "lesser copy" of himself). So all of those DNA mods made to empower Mewtwo didn't do much. Then factor in that Mew can do everything, can use any Move it wants and even transform into anything else it wants, something that Mewtwo can't do. It was less "THE" most powerful, and more like "The most powerful of all the Pokemon we are currently aware exist here in Kanto". Walk a few miles to the side and you already got Ho-oh and Lugia, or move a bit further south and you got Rayquaza, Groudon, and Kyogre. But yeah, I get what you mean about the myths being how elders justified tge things happening, like the way ancient people made up all the mythologies to explain phenomenom they couldn't understand

@@jvbon646 Mewtwo was also essentially a child, whereas Mew was probably eons old, even if he did act something like a child, which I at least interpreted as him not being as intelligent as Mewtwo, or at least being more naive than Mewtwo. I think if we also take humanity's potential for growth which was now part of him, even if he wasn't at the time of the movie the strongest, he def would have eventually become it. Then again, maybe that's just me coping. I saw the movie a long time ago, and I didn't even see all the subsequent media that included him. The part about Mewtwo in my original comment is more of a throwaway line. It's the rest I stand behind. But I don't remember Mew thinking that of Mewtwo. I assume it was in some media outside the movie? Kinda sad, my impression was that Mew was a kind if a bit naive and playful pokemon, not something that would think badly of Mewtwo for being a copy. I never thought the Gen 2 or 3 legendaries were stronger than Mewtwo, nor do I think the games suggest this in the lore proper. Or at least it's left up to interpretation. Lugia was psychic so it might have been a rival, but no other legendaries show Mewtwo's intelligence. Anyway, I digress back to the Mewtwo talk, it's all super subjective nostalgia on my side. The non-Mewtwo parts of my comments are more important.

I've only gone two minutes into the video and I just wanted to say that I won't be watching it. I have tried really hard to not get leaks or anything regarding all this. I know snippets because it's unavoidable but nothing major and I'd like to keep it that way. But I was excited seeing your video, cause it's been a while and I was too late for your live recently. So, how have you been? How's your health? I hope you're happy and healthy now. Now I'm gonna go off the video but if I'm wrong about it and I should watch the video you think then do let me know and I'll come back to it. Have an awesome day!

to be clear, the leaks dont say anything about modern projects (for the public). its all gen 1-6 stuff. so if youre worried about getting spoiled for z-a or gen 10 or whatever, theres nothing to be worried about

bisa says in this video that the leaker has pledged not to spoil any future projects, so you're all good

@@ilexdiapason Oh thank goodness! That's actually so great. I know we wanted information but like..... I'd rather wait and be excited. But thanks for letting me know!

@@grease887 Oh, I'm not just worried about that. I accidentally had a friend tell me about the whole Slakoth thing and that kinda scared me. So I'm actively trying to not know anything. That is the only information that I'm fully aware of. I know there is more, such as Typhlosion and Octilary and stuff but I know nothing about them and rather not know anything. But hey thanks for informing me still. I might end up watching the video anyways.

@@Psyche_Of_Tay No need to be scared of anything. I specifically go over how much of this has been misinterpreted and -characterized.

imo it is a big shock to the system to see pokemon, wich is an insanely child friendly brand, imply humans mating with pokemon, or mating at all. its like the guns in the anime but turned up to 11 i fully get why people would make memes about this but i agree that it went a bit too far in a few cases
@Shinntoku12 күн бұрын
Tbh it's not that shocking if you're someone really into the text of the games. Old man being weird about his Rapidash, the woman with a houndoom boyfriend, the Japanese sinnoh myths saying people and pokemon used to marry, PLA telling the story of a man marrying a Froslass. Too many people in North America are just conditioned to see even the faintest hint of sex as a taboo that can never be discussed, even though it's extremely common in mythologies all over the world
@sinisternorimaki12 күн бұрын
You ever read greek mythology? Or japanese folklore?
@jvbon64611 күн бұрын
This bit isn't even new, it's been part of the canon lore since all the way back when Diamomd and Pearl came out

@@sinisternorimaki im not saying that its on the same level as those, im saying its more extreme than what pokemon usually releases

@@Shinntoku yeah i agree but most people either dont know about those, the leaks being so popular showed them to a lot of new faces who werent involved with pokemon lore before

What giratina? The creation myþ skipped them
@BisaPKMN12 күн бұрын
Giratina was not part of the Creation Trio initially! It does appear in some versions of the myths, though not by any name, and not as a creation of Arceus. Also incredibly baded thorn user.
@Tshow_8559 күн бұрын
It would be cook if the myths purposefully tried to ignore Giratina's existance Almost as if acknowlegement is a sin... Would have been peak ngl

Interesting to find out Palkia was meant to be male and Dialga was meant to be female.

Yeah very cool, but i hope the HACKER (not a leaker, a hacker, call them what they are) ends up being jailed and faces consequences for this disgusting behavior
