You know what, Dixie, this is one of your best videos. Not just the scenery, which is primordially magical, but the way you filmed all this. It was solemn and pristine at the same time, hard to describe, but it made me feel like a walk back in time. You captured it all very well. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing with us that you were having personal issues and questioning whether or not a hike was poor timing or not. I can DEFINITELY vouch for this piece of advice! These past two years of covid have been brutal, with my mom winding up in long term care and so many other horrible things happening along the way. But you are SO RIGHT, I could either be miserable in my bed or miserable in the woods and the woods won. And my god, I it took the edge off. Thank you so much for all you have done for us out here in the hiking community by being so authentic and sharing the good with the bad.

Amen. After having my soul crushed in a divorce, some of the best therapy was from hitting a trail or making the first ripples on a calm morning lake in my kayak. "Out there" is a healing place. Fact.

There's a KZbin photographer named Nigel Dansen. I'm a photographer so I follow his channel. I thought his photo journal trips to Iceland were about as good as it gets until I saw yours. Not only is your photography/editing great but you add something to the experience that others can't seem to bring. Oh yeah, and those bad times? I think we may need to go through them and come out ok so we can tell others going through them how we did it. Looking forward to the next episode!

Yes, a really nice hut! “Please DO NOT brush your teeth in here. Just outside.” And the hikers who read that sign are probably like, “Oh. Okay.” Politeness and respect for the house rules; that’s refreshingly reasonable. 👍

So thrilled to hear some of my favorite classical pieces on your channel, rachmannioff's second piano concerto is a very nostalgic piece for me, I had a roommate in college who used to play through the whole thing on a piano we shared, it was a wonderful place and a wonderful time in my life, thank you for branching out and not sticking us with the same old canned free stuff that other tubers do

I have always found the one word you say with your heavy southern accent is "ice" and it sounds like "ass" to my ear. So all those times you talked about your ice axe or stuff like that, I would chuckle. And now you are in ASSLAND! So glad you got to do this, it's quite magnificent! Totally relate to the waterfalls snob comment. My wife and I drove around Iceland this June. On the first day we stopped at every waterfall that came along, sometimes driving several kilometers down a gravel road and hiking. By the last day, we would barely look out the window of the car for anything less than 100 ft.

Let me preface this post by stating we have lost 3 of our parents in less that a year. There are two sayings that keep going on over and over in my head. 1. You don’t know what the day will bring, but you know Who brings the day. 2. We all have expirations dates and we don’t when it will be. Go on your adventures. Issues may be there when you get back. However returning to the issues with a ton of new experiences is way better then just issues. Aaron continues to be amazing matching the music to the scenery. One step at a time! Keep Hiking!

Dixie over the summer I got a job as a state park ranger after quitting my office job last year. I absolutely love it, I feel satisfied in a way I never have before, but I'm working my ass off and making way less and have way less vacation time. So even though I spent all day working in a state forest I'm getting out and hiking less. It's a fair trade off but I do miss it. In 2019 your journey on the PCT got me through a year long illness. Now in 2022 you're still helping to scratch my own wanderlust itch on much happier terms. Thank you for doing you and sharing it with us
