They really improved the story and voice acting on this one. Love it so far. A really important thing to notice is that your proficiency stat goes up for every 1 seasonal level. So my heroes are already up to 450 proficiency. I also went from 32m to 62m power.

I have a different take on this. I am a baby fish, not even considering myself a dolphin. There are whales on my server. While the whales rushed to endgame, It took me longer time. Meaning untill I got to endgame, I was never hitting good ranks on PvEvP content (dream realm). While whales got to endgame sooner, hit 240 level cap, and Supreme+ heroes, then their progress slowed down. This allowed people like me and F2P players to start being competitive. In the past 7 days I've been hitting 200-100 rank in dream realm. Nothing crazy like some other less whaling servers but still, enough to net me some orange ex. wep. shards. I was kinda happy with that. And now, bam. New content, new levels, whales popped off again, and I can no longer hit Seasonal Dream Realm top numbers...Make of this what you will but moving the goal post a lot only helps whales imho.

They merged servers, so now whales reign supreme. I have a feeling Lilith Games will slowly cater to whales again and only pump out PvP content and gatekeep valuable resources like the yellow and red essence to whales only. This feels like Dislyte all over again...

Any game that sells bundles that are non cosmetic is going to be Pay to Win. This is the main reason to stay away from 99% of cell phone games. They are all geared to cause a gambling like addiction while giving extremely short time to complete goals thus forcing you to supplement by buying bundles even if not a whale for fear of missing out. Then even when you want to quit you've invested so much money, time(sometimes years), and progression that quitting is like cutting off your arm. Typically new games go light on the pay to win but after a few months they go full steam ahead with $100.00 bundles for the most trivial of things. Unless you are rich it is best never to play these games unless you are okay at being at the bottom of the barrel and just play for fun or to kill time.

The best games however manage to find that fine balance between catering to the whales and not making the game utter trash for everyone else, and especially the F2P players who are just as vital to the game as the whales. After all without the F2P, light spenders and dolphins the whales don't have any incentive to keep whaling and instead move on to a different game. AFK Arena wasn't particularly good at this, as the Celestials and Hypogeans were way way overpowered above everyone else making all 4 factions being basically pointless in the end game. I', hoping Lilith learned some lessons from AFK Arena and here in Journey they will not make all the factions obsolete and in general make the game more F2P and light spender friendly. The start has been good, with A tier heroes actually being relevant if not outright best in slot for a lot of the content. However as you said this game is still very much in its early days, only time will tell whether Lilith will repeat the mistakes they made with AFK Arena or learned from them and make a better game for everyone who isn't a whale.

Gonna hit reso 240 today. Season starts in 6 days on my server and I'm super excited for it. Especially since its basically a reset of power aside from ascended heroes you already have, giving everyone a chance to even the playing field a bit more.

I think the way they have integrated "seasons" is smart. It's not a reset in a complete sense and it allows those who may have stepped away from the game to have an incentive to come back for what feels like a catch up of sorts. It works.

I think it's good that season comes out after X days of the server being out, would be overwhelming for new players to have to progress in normal world and season at the same time. And probably makes balancing easier for the devs

I was so pumped to see how much they added for this season! The level reset was really refreshing (even though it wasn't an actual reset of course) since I'm the type of person who loves games that feel like they have infinite playability. The new equipment and artifacts are also super cool! This is really promising for the future of this game imo

It seems like they matched servers that are on the same district to start the new season all at the same time. My server hit day 42 6 hours ago, but we didn’t start the new season. I assume we are one of the older servers in our district so we start on day 43 and the other servers start on 42 and maybe even 41

I am a bit confused as to how this works. Once you enter the season you cant go back to the previous to finish stuff you didnt? Like I have towers to do, the dream realm etc, am I gonna be able to do it once I enter the new season? Like can I switch between the two or how does that work. Idk if I want to enter new season before finishing everything.

Yeh same :/ I wanted to upgrade my weapons but I don’t get gold :/ I use everything in the season and there is nothing in the normal al game mode. I wish I could get there also afk reward

I think the slower characters at the start is better. So that f2p have time to work on old characters as well as do some work towards new. After people start getting stacks of supreme+ characters, the releases will need to speed up

So after I started the new season ALL resonance stuff from the base game got reset and I cannot find my old levels/gear anymore.. seems that when you enter the season (Nothing els to do..) you get that reset onto you're account!?

you still keep all your stats, on the character screen you can still see and upgrade ur resonance synergy, and on the top right of the equipment page you can swap to see ur og equipment. same with afk stages you get both the old loot and seasonal loot whilst afk now. The arena mode for example doesn't use seasonal stats so only your original gear matters

old stuff is still there :) on ur character page u can still see and upgrade ur resonance synergy, all ur hero dupes, ex equipment upgrades etc. stay and on the equipment page you can tap the top right to look at ur og equipment. Afk stages now just give you both the original loot and the new season loot at the same time, you keep all ur artifacts too.

u've got to complete all afk stages, the story, get resonance 240 and i think it then unlocks. its possible that u need to get max rewards on dream realm and beat the legend towers

A lot of gold income, came from maxing your gear(not seasonal), cause then you can recycle the mythic bars you get, for gold.

I am not a huge fan of 'seasons' resetting your progress. That is why I stopped play diablo etc. However, this is an AFK game and I dont have to have a huge time commitment into the game. So I am not totally turned off. I will stay for a bit and see how this plays out.

brutus voice change yeah. antandra, berial and damien’s voices are also different. antandra lost her emotion and now has no passion, and berial just.. he doesn’t sound like a goofy fun playful jester anymore. just the stereotypical boring evil. his is the most drastic. smokey’s voice is the same.. I think they either just changed the ult voice, or added one. same with vala. I don’t think they had a voiceline play for their ult, but now they do. smokey caught me majorly off guard at first.. I was already upset over the others and it felt like a kick in the dick. I’m glad his is still the same. I really hope they put berial, antandra and damian back to normal though.. ugh..

Not how that works, if you’re new you’re on a new server with other people who just started so there’s nothing to “catch up” to. Also you can access all season content after it ends as all seasonal content gets archived.

Seems to be an unpopular take, but I hate how they reset all the levels and gear and such. I was so proud of getting my characters up to level 262(as of the update) and getting almost all my gear up to 240 (since I have no gold) and to just have it all reset was really discouraging for me.

But it's not really reset. The level still count for arena and abysse and the overall lvl of your account count towards your proficiency. So it just gives more to do/add up because the season lvl also counts in abyss (I got almost +50 floors today alone)

This game's presence is very weak. I don't hear anyone talking about this game and it explains why they paid LilyPichu, Ludwig big sums of money to promote their game. I'm expecting this game to survive less than Dislyte. This game has no hook like Dislyte did. It has nice art, but thats not enough. I like this game, but I'm being real.
