You never disappoint. Excellent video. I loved those patterns in Princess Diana’s time. I don’t like them now. I don’t wanna add any more bulk than I already have We’re from Bradenton, FL about 88 miles from Fort Myers. We didn’t get a lot of damage, we had some screens out of our pool cage and lost all of our food in the refrigerator and freezers. We are what they call a victim of invisible impact. Not enough damage to meet your deductible or replace lost food from power outages but it’s still wrecks havoc on your finances. We’re Thankful to God we were spared and our hearts and prayers go out to those that were impacted far worse. It was heading straight towards us and then took that turn before it got to us.

Cor, no way to that Lady Di look. I'm not sure I even liked it back then! I think my favourite pattern in this roundup is the Kirsi. I will have to try to remember that one for next winter. But I also love the Yvette dress and I have bought that already for the upcoming summer.

I love pretty feminine dresses and tops, didn’t like the Marnie until I started to see people’s interpretations of it , and now it’s on my ‘ to do ‘ list . Thanks for sharing, enjoyed watching x

I just love how your channel has evolved. I agree that there are plenty of sew-along and Pin&needles Karina is who I watch. So many tips over there that aren’t on the patterns. Sewing is so much more then just sewing. My wedding dress was chiffon and puffy sleeves with yoke and prairie hat! 1981

Thank you for another fabulous vlog Kristen some of the pattern releases are new to me 🤗 It was lovely seeing photos of Princess Diana, my brother was a police officer at the time and was her driver when she visited our town on a couple of occasions 🥰 I remember wearing a grey baby cord midi length pinafore with a broderie anglais petticoat which was about an inch longer peeping out from underneath, thick black tights and a pair of black suede ankle boots. I’ve still got the boots gosh I’ve just realised I was 17 so 40 years ago 😂

Hi from California, I loved the 80’s puffy sleeve! I was a teenager and loved Gunne Sax dresses. Love the patterns. Can’t wait to make a prairie style top and maybe a sweet Jennifer Lauren dress. Love your channel.

I rocked the prairie style in high school but I think it would look silly on me now. However, I think touches of throw back styles are flattering at any age - a single ruffle instead of three, a dramatic sleeve on an otherwise simple design, a special but not too ridiculous collar. A little touch keeps you current.

I never really jumped on the bandwagon with the huge sleeves and ruffles galore. Mostly I think, is because I'm 5'9+ and quite busty (EU70I), so I imagine I'd feel like if I was wearing a tent - a huge tent. Seeing the trend worn by fellow sewists may persuade me to try it at some point in the future, but for now I'll stick to something a little less girly and oversize.

Those Mitchell pants are super cool. Classic with a twist which is right up my alley. I hope to get some time to make them. And since you asked, the frilly, puffy style is a HARD pass for me. The Marnie is the antithesis of my style. I sew to get perfect fit and emphasize my figure. I can buy poofy and oversized off the rack. Also would really like the I Am Re for autumn walks. May pick that one up.

Love the Mitchell pants but definitely not doing the Diana or babydoll look. I got married in the early 90s and struggled to find a dress with “less”. Mine was still fluffier than I was looking for.

Love big shoulders (withe sloping shoulders a shoulder pad is my friend) but I don’t like puffed sleeves or the big collars and ruffles. And I was an 80s teen too.

Definitely Marmite on the Marnie. I lived through that style, did it last time around but my aesthetic is much more pared back now. I like the wave tucks but would put them vertically on a simple shirt. I have to be honest and say I'm not a fan of Tilly patterns in general as I don't find their drafting that great.

I didn’t like the Marni top at first sight however I have seen some lovely examples on Instagram, Rachel of Stitched Up has sewn a beauty.Pared down without the frills and with the tucks only it is gorgeous.

Well I liked the duffel coat and the Mitchell trousers but the not the other patterns. I just don't understand why anyone wants to wear a dress that either looks like a maternity dress or a nightgown. Back in the 70's I made smock tops and ended up wearing them as maternity tops in the late 70's, early 80's. I cringe when I look back at pictures and wonder why we thought those smock styles were flattering.

I’m not a fan of the 80s or the Princess Di looks. I was a goth in the 80s 😊 I quite like the Marnie top though but as I’m very overweight I wouldn’t add the frills. I’m interested so am thinking about it.

No into that style at all. Love a good Bishop sleeve though. Not all that pouffy stuff though. My mom made my wedding dress & used a Nina Ricci pattern. No puffy sleeves. I can still fit into it but it's a bit tighter in the ribcage after having 3 kids.....lol We were very lucky that Ian missed us & my daughters as well. All safe here.

I like the Jennifer Larence dress but I've made one of her patterns before and the instructions weren't good, so I've decided never again. Lady Di was tall and I'm petite. I was never into her 80s style but I would also look clownlike in huge collars, puffy sleeves etc. Even if I liked that look, it wouldn't work for me. Hard to believe that look is coming into fashion

I think the Marni blouse is horrendous, lol! Obviously not everyone will feel.the same, but that poor model in that big square garment, trussed up to the neck and covered in fussy pleats and frills! If you wanted to make a curvy figure look its worst, this is the blouse to do it! It would make me look like a piece of furniture, and it swamps the smaller model. I like frills and pleats, just not ALL the frills and pleats...😁

The dresses and blouses with frills and ruffles just seem to be so over the top. They may look lovely on little girls but are rather ridiculous when worn by adult women. They seem to be very popular with bigger women because all the lumps and bumps are not seen. I prefer the style arc patterns. They are so clear cut and modern.

Maybe a. Teen to twenty something person can rock all those ruffles and puff sleeves. Not a good look on older or large busted persons! Also looks a bit twee. I love most of Tillys designs but no way I’ll go for this one! Sorry.

I think the top version of the Tilly and the Buttons pattern is hideous - way too many things going on. The dress is so much better but I still wouldn't wear it. I'm tired of tiered baby doll/smock style dresses and tops that just hang on women and don't give them any shape. Plus I'm 5' tall and all that fabric would just overwhelm me. Just my 2 cents.
